According to the Beeb they may not be able to pay the wages on Friday as the bank has frozen their account. In addition to the £ 10 million + they owe Northampton Council HMRC have issued a winding up order re £ 166k in unpaid taxes. It appears that the ex Owner of Oxford is interested in taking over the club. Before or after they go bust?

You mean Kassam? Frying pan and fire spring to mind.

Can't imagine anyone would pay or be willing to service their debts. More likely go bust and buy what's left.

Cue NTFC (2015) PLC

You are probably right about that. Although at this stage you would take Kassam rather than going under if you were a Northampton fan.

If that is the approach (fold and found a phoenix club) it's a long Herefordy way back for them and surely with it happening this early in the season they would fold and not fulfil their fixtures, having to start again who knows where in August?

That would be so very sad.

Kelvin Thomas but it is all subject to him being to do a deal with Northampton Council over the £ 10 + million.Sounds like an admin with a points deduction on the horizon.

As long as any punishment is appropriate it's fine.

Realistically there are two options, (1) as Barry Strange mentions above and (2) take the points deduction for admin, which MUST be at least 20 points if the message is to get through.

It will probably mean relegation, but so be it. One way or another, this financial nonsense has to be stopped.

Been following this one closely if wages not being paid then Administration is surely not far behind.
Can't see the guy from Oxford wanting to fork out to much and if he can come to a deal with the council then going into Admin now is probably the best option. Taking the 10 point hit should not hinder them to much as from what i have seen so far they seem a decent side this year

I think the punishment has now been upped points wise to 12

10?

12?

No deterrent. And who pays the inflated wages for contracted players day one of admin.

They only attracted better players for one reason. Money.

2 division relegation is the way forward ie start in august 2016 in conference north or south.

Same for league one clubs - start the following season in the conference.
