Best Sit Com of all time 23:24 - Sep 26 with 2746 views | wespens | Fresh back from the pub and this was tonight's topic for debate. Went for the Royle Family myself - revolutionary comedy, fantastic characters and observation comedy of the highest quality. Brilliantly acted with pathos and for me the best ever!

Bit of an 'It ain't half hot Mum' fan - strange how German bashing is fine but because there was a white actor playing an Asian guy means we'll never see this on the TV again. Can recommend the box set.

In terms of classic comedy that appeals to all ages and stands the test of time then Dad's Army is the winner. Another favourite for me is Fawlty Towers
Best Sit Com of all time on 00:38 - Sep 27 with 2718 views | spooner | Fawlty Towers still fresh for me. Then there's the British version of The Odd Couple, starring Jose and Karl

Yes spooner! Best sit com of all time : Blackpool FC Karl and Jose. Karl, "We will do this." Jose, "I'm not so sure about that Karl." Ranger, "Give me the ball Clarkey, I'll take the penalty, I'm on 2 grand per goal." "Sorry lads (and fans), I've missed."

Only Fools and Horses without a doubt - TV is so bad at the moment I tend to see at least half a dozen episodes a week in random channels!

Porridge is as fresh today as it was then , timeless. I'll throw Frasier in (and someone should mention Cheers), Friends was on just before Frasier and was just the curtain raiser

Karl Oyston's Chairmanship at Blackpool FC is a bloody sit com - not many funny lines though!

Best Sit Com of all time on 23:03 - Sep 28 with 2561 views | ProfessorTangerine | Blackadder the Second, Third and Goes Forth must be up there. Of the more recent, The Office (UK). And not sure if this qualifies as a sitcoms, a sketch show or what, but the League of Gentlemen.

Loathed to call it a sitcom but The Office for me as well - went to USA recently and in the plane you could watch both series - watched the lot and was just brilliant!!

Never seen the US one. Think it is a sitcom - a comedy in a situation, in this case, an office. It just uses the fly on the wall style. Not do keen on Derek, but really liked Extras. Saw Gervais live at the Opera House a couple of years back. On his day, he can be brilliant.

OFAH is the best imo. The Fresh Prince was good in it's day but has aged badly.
