Refwatch Preview: Morecambe (a) Friday, 2nd Nov 2012 07:00 by TVOS First-year referee Steve Martin is the man in the middle for Dale’s maiden visit to Morecambe’s Globe Arena in the FA Cup on Saturday. The Staffordshire-based official was promoted to the league list this summer having progressed through the ranks in recent seasons. We have already met him this term as Steve was the man-in-the-middle for September’s 3-2 win at Rotherham as a late replacement for the unwell Scott Duncan. He has also previously appeared at the Globe Arena when he was in charge of Morecambe’s home game with Cheltenham in February 2011 as part of a development programme for potential promotion. Mr Martin has refereed nine games this season, eight in League Two, one in the JPT and one in League One. In those matches he has shown 22 yellow cards and one red, although that was back on his Football League debut at Wycombe v Gillingham in August.
