| Forum Thread | Sean Mccauley -why? at 10:08 10 Jun 2011
Sean Mccauley's "cv" is less impressive than John Pemberton's so if as we are led to beleive John Pemberton is out of the running & Sean McCauley made the final 3. One question WHY?. McAuley was appointed Sheffield Wednesday's Academy head coach in January 2006. He became caretaker manager of Sheffield Wednesday between the sacking of Paul Sturrock and the appointment of Brian Laws in late October and early November 2006 respectively.[1] McAuley was in charge for four first-team games, winning three and drawing one. The victories were over Queens Park Rangers, Crystal Palace and Leicester City. The draw was a 2—2 scoreline at Wolverhampton Wanderers.[2] Following the appointments of both Laws and Alan Irvine, he returned to his career as the Owls' Academy head coach. Following the sacking of Brian Laws on 13 December 2009, McAuley was re-installed as caretaker manager, until a replacement could be found. His first game was a 2—0 home defeat to Swansea.[3] He then went on to draw 2—2 with league leaders Newcastle United and lose 2—1 to Crystal Palace in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, both at home.[4] McAuley has been involved in Sheffield Wednesday's work to build partner relationships with clubs in North America. He has developed ties with clubs in northern California and Michigan, and in April 2009 he travelled to Canada to undertake coaching sessions with Victoria Highlanders. |

In to 2-1 on skybet.. not bad track record in what is a limited "managerial" career. Pemberton coached Nottingham Forest's reserve team to the Central League title in the 2007—08 season.[2] In December 2008, following the dismissal of first-team manager Colin Calderwood, Pemberton was appointed as caretaker manager for the match against Norwich City,[3] guiding Forest to a 3—2 victory.[4] Billy Davies was appointed to the post,[5] but did not take over with immediate affect. Pemberton took charge of the Forest side which caused an upset in the Third Round of the FA Cup by winning 3—0 at the City of Manchester Stadium against Premier League opponents Manchester City.[6] At the end of the 2008—09 season Davies reorganised his coaching staff, and Pemberton's contract was terminated by mutual consent after more than a decade as part of Forest's backroom team.[2] The following season saw him join Crystal Palace's coaching staff for a short spell. The Eagles were in administration, and Pemberton was brought in, along with manager Paul Hart and assistant Dougie Freedman (both of whom had worked with Pemberton as a manager and a player respectively at Forest), for two months to keep the Eagles in Championship. This was achieved on the final day of the season, after which his contract expired. After leaving Palace he was appointed as the manager of Sheffield United's academy in May 2010[7] and guided his young team to the Youth FA Cup Final the following season, losing out to Manchester United over two legs.[8] |
| Forum Thread | Are we Barca in disguise at 18:12 12 Feb 2011
From the Wednesday forum- I'm at game. The problems are: We never win a header, they keep having time and space in midfield to control and pass. They keep getting it to their winger who gets behind jones and delivers danger all the time. Often they skin our midfield over and over again. We have nothing upfront, neither striker has won a header yet and there is cole just behind the front two who hasn't had the ball there yet. No width at all and no out ball at all. Clinton was thru on goal but his shot was dismal! Joc is the worst midfielder as he gives it away too much. Mm at centreback is not great at distribution. Rochdale look like Barcelona |
