Cheap shot about our support by the Daily Mail - unnecessary and uncalled for. 09:41 - Nov 28 with 4981 views | Jim | I felt it wasn't too bad in the circumstances - reasonable percentage of our home crowds - and having made the effort like some others I don't want to get up and read that in my dressing gown and slippers. Speaking about 'arry they say: "High up in the stands 375 - NOW THAT IS EMBARRASSING - travelling fans chanted his name." Why do we have to put up with this? If Tony is to realise his ambition and turn us into a global brand we can do without such snide digs. They want us replaced by bigger clubs but we have earned the right to play in the Premier League. On another point the injury to Cesar is good - I know 'arry was going to drop him anyway because he rates Rob highly. I do fear teams will pepper him now though because of his vulnerability to shots from outside the area. At least he will command the defence. We still look really weak up front - Sunderland are the worst side we have played this season but we never looked like scoring.

Cheap shot about our support by the Daily Mail - unnecessary and uncalled for. on 13:28 - Nov 28 with 1043 views | stansleftfoot | The deepest recession for 80 years, 120 flood warnings, drivers reminded not to leave home unless the journey is vital, Christmas one payday away, if you are lucky enough to have a payday at all, the rail and transport system collapsing in random and completely unexpected ways, continuous rain for four days and a reasonable chance the game could be called off one hour before kick off, a 300 mile journey or 5 hours driving time, or another way, set off after work and you miss the game. As ever the Daily Mail uses no analysis of the facts, ignores a balanced perspective, and passes a broadly partisan view of the situation. The professional journalists will tell you their job is to investigate and report with as little opinion as possible, everything the Daily Mail fails to do, relentlessly. The story is how and why did 375 QPR fans out sing 36000 Sunderland fans on a cold Tuesday night 300 miles from Loftus Road given all the reasons above, in the hope against all evidence that their team could find a result.
Cheap shot about our support by the Daily Mail - unnecessary and uncalled for. on 13:41 - Nov 28 with 1019 views | R_from_afar | It's The Mail so am I bovvered? Nope. All sentient life forms know that it's jam packed with lies. The Mail keeps the press complaints people in a job. I doubt they even have any idea where Sunderland is, they think it's just past Kettering. Last point: The media will always have a go at clubs with modest fanbases, like us. They know that they'll alienate a large percentage of their readership if they take a pop at the likes of Liverpool and Man U. Just make sure you never, ever buy that rag. RFA

to be honest I am not bothered by the comment, I just think it is incredibly bad journalism. Infact the whole piece is badly written and poorly thought out.

Cheap shot about our support by the Daily Mail - unnecessary and uncalled for. on 13:16 - Nov 28 by gjc104 | Im with you...thought it looked a lot more than that. We sang like there was more of us! Was a hell of a trek, and we only came form Stoke on Trent but with the same road closures etc referred to, took us 4 1/2 to get there and 4 hours to get back. The weather was awful, Sunderland have history this season of a game off due to waterlogging so can see why many were scepical of going...but didnt want to risk not being there for that elusive 1st win (which could have happened) and to see 'Arry's debut! |

Surely you mean go back to WATRB (not many QPR fans type out the full name of that site) or fantasy island as it's commonly known to find out if they got the answers to the questions?

Cheap shot about our support by the Daily Mail - unnecessary and uncalled for. on 12:38 - Nov 28 by WestbourneR | Jim - what do the end blocks of Ellerslie and Loftus Road sing to each other? What is the name of the song we do our after goal chant along to? What animal ran on the pitch last season? What was the song for Di Canio and the Italian owners? What was Pat Agyemang's nickname? Who is Captain Jack? Please answer these to help convince me of your 4th generation credentials. |

Cheap shot about our support by the Daily Mail - unnecessary and uncalled for. on 14:21 - Nov 28 with 948 views | NW5Hoop | Have emailed the writer. Dear Michael, I'm not in the habit of emailing writers whenever something disparaging is written about QPR, or I'd never be able to do my job. And I'd have to write to myself. But your aside about the "embarrassing" level of away support last night was unnecesary. How many fans should a small club take to the other end of the country on a Tuesday night, when they're bottom of the table, playing another rubbish team, the weather has been shocking for days, we're in a recession as well as the run-up to Christmas, and the A1 is flooded? God knows I would never consider making that journey, and I'm full of goggle-eyed amazement at those who did. It wasn't fair, as I'm sure you know.

but we had many more than 375 there. I did a quick tot up, and i reckon there was closer to 550/600 which, in the circumstances, was remarkable - the noise we made would, I reckon, have made the players and Harry feel very humble that there is still that enthusiasm and support despite a dire season.

The noise we made in the 2nd half was very good.Just a shame we didn't score, but as others have said,it was a first clean sheet away in over a year. The after match party finally finished at 2am when the Head of Steam closed. All in all,a good away day and can't wait for Wigan now, and Newcastle next month.

Cheap shot about our support by the Daily Mail - unnecessary and uncalled for. on 11:30 - Nov 28 by DWQPR | I was one of the 375 and I had the luxury of only having to travel from Milton Keynes. Personally I thought it looked more than that, and certainly sounded much more. And given the fact that the A1 was flooded just south of Catterick, meaning a detour through some country lanes, pissing down with rain most of the journey, rock bottom of the league with no wins and the worst away record in living memory, oh and not forgetting that it was a Tuesday night in late November, with the majority of supporters travelling 300+ miles to get there, I think that the turn out was more than admirable. And then on the way back to find out that the Highways Agency had SHUT the A1(M) just north of the M1 interchange, you could not get a better recipe for staying at home. Yet 375 didn't. It is easy to be a glory hunting caaaaant and turn up at games knowing you are going to win, but this is not what supporting QPR is all about. |
Exactly. Well done for making the effort, when many couldn't.
