Favourite for the Bristol City job by all accounts.

Good luck to him. I think he'll keep them up.

He didn't "leave"

Disgusting comments for a great clubman, captain and manager of our highest Prem finish.

Also someone who while a player openly said he didn't want us to be promoted and has taken arguably the best squad ever created by Laudrup and Rodgers from a top ten / major cup winning side to relegation favourites.

I think the comments were aimed at his management role, not the others you mentioned.

No he didn't leave he was f#cking sacked!.........Because?...... He had buried the club in a mile high pile of steaming stinking shite i.e. his own shite..........But hey!...... Apparently according to some he is quoted to have been a 'fantastic-servant'. Thank God he wasn't a mediocre servant or perish the though a terrible servant could you imagine what mess SCFC would be in now?

I think it's safe to say that if we hadn't won our first major trophy in 100yrs in late Febuary, the result of which meant players took their foot off the Gas, then Laudrups team would have easily scored a much higher points tally than they did.

All harsh.

Tremendous servant as a player, just unfortunately thrust into a role he was patently unsuitable / unqualified for by a combination of directorial stupidity and misplaced self confidence.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Plus the year after, if it wasn't for Europe we would of been comfortably mid table. It was probably the right call to go our separate ways when we did, as there was trouble behind the scenes, most likely from Monk himself, but we had the perfect opportunity to replace with better, Koeman for example.

He would have got away with his lack experience had he had the experience to know his limitations, and act accordingly.

Yup. Never lacked for belief in himself did Gaz.

Maybe he'll learn from the experience and come back humbler. Probably not got much of a managerial future if he doesn't.

He will never manage a Premier League club ever again guaranteed! What Premier league club would want him, seriously? There is absolutely no way he could ever steer a club up a league table for a promotion at Championship level either. He does not have the ability, experience and correct attitude, he will take a club in completely the opposite direction and what serious Championship side would take a gamble on his services?

Like you said he does not have much of a managerial future. His managerial legacy i.e. what state he left SCFC in will see to that.

I would want to know more about just what went on with that clique of senior players at the time of Laudrup's demise, before I formed an overall judgment on Monk.

He might well do a good job for them, especially if they go down.
He can start from scratch in Div 3, build his own team.

Will have learned loads from what to/ what not to do whilst with us.
Be interesting to see if he sinks or swims.

He inherited an absolutely magnificent legacy (that fantastic playing style?) and talented side from Laudrup albeit with a loss of form/and alleged in-house issues.

Could you imagine what that useless and utterly incompetent tw#t i.e. Monk would be capable of if he inherited a team with total opposite attributes to that? if he can ruin a revered and talented SCFC side what the hell would he do with a sh#t one?
