Would have done a great job there 5 years ago. As a manager, it would be a hell of a risk for them though. Surely they will look at how quickly we declined under him. All the best to him if he does get it though.
Shame he never went there when they wanted him as a player. Laudrup wanted him out but then he conveniently had the Chico row and the rest is history. Great playing career for us but was all undone by the horrendous mess he left behind as a manager.

To me the "What if Laudrup had got shot of Monk" question really does makes me seriously ponder how things could now be totally different at SCFC? It is only natural for me to presume that 'Monk-the-basket-case-manager' would have never then been appointed along with the three other incompetent 'jobs-for-the-boys' clowns? The course of history could have changed so dramatically for the best.
I'll have to try not to think about it too much because it is torture and will haunt me knowing the utter mess he/others have made and the fact it could all have been so, so, so easily prevented i.e. by never employing him and others in the first place!
Some of the utter bulshit on here about Monk is beyond belief. got a big future in management and will do well there. Should have won the manager of the year award last season. Look at his overall record as Swans manager, not just the last 3 months when our strikers couldn't hit a barn door.
Only an idiot would eat a turkey curry on Christmas day
