Garry was just on SSN. The phrase that stuck in my mind was: 'no threat until that one chance'. Unfortunately I saw a different game where Norwich wrestled control from us early in the second half, and later came close twice in a two minute spell before eventually scoring. Garry's body language and downcast eyes did not look good to me. |
Have not seen any of the game, but just reading the bbc football report on my phone and its pointing towards a deserving win for Norwich with the Swans not having a single shot on goal even though they had 2/3 of the possession. A bit early to panic, but with 40 points the milestone its almost 1 point a game now on average which would not be enough, really struggling to see on current form, set up, options who the Swans are likely to beat in the short / medium term, even changing Monk now may unsettle some of the players, and who do you bring in??? |  | | |

I agree RE Routs , i thought he showed a bit of pace had guile,touch and a desire to get onto the ball and try something.
Many say he is the most skillfull player at the club and in fairness it showed today, he looked world class compared to how pedestrian some of our lot looked!
It has to be said that some of the players just look totally fooked off with each other, i know none of them like losing but the body language of the team looks all wrong.
I sense there are issues in the squad myself. They aint running through any brick walls for Monk at the moment thats for sure. |
The commentator on my feed alluded to the amount of arguing that was going on between our players.

If I look back to thoughts at the start of the season, the midfield would have been
1 of Cork or Britton
Ki
Shelvey or Sigurdsson
Now three months on it would be
1 of Cork or Britton
1 of Ki or Shelvey
1 of Sigurdsson or Ayew
Routledge/Barrow/Montero to provide the width (would have added Dyer to that if he was still here)
Gomis or Eder up front (or possibly Ayew I still think is worth a shot)
We definitely though don't have the balance right as you say and it is baffling as to why we keep trying to make it work when it clearly isn't |
Because the manager hasn't got the tactical awareness or man management experience to impact on the squad as they know that most of them are there as a result of the board and not the manager. And of course we retained the negative influemence of Gomis when he should have been booted out in the summer.

Don't forget Pep as well. Unfortunately along with Gary they have all been brought in to suit the purse strings. It has been successful, and long may continue to be, but I have some real concerns at the moment. We are far too good a side on paper to be where we are now. That has to be down to management. |  |

Our style over the last few seasons, such that it was, dictates that we have a defensive midfielder protecting the back 4, breaking up opposition attacks and making himself available for a pass. We also need 2 wide players and Ayew is not one of them. Then we need to pick 3 other players to fit in with that basic template and it clearly won't accommodate Ki, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Gomis and Ayew and they have to be rotated, rested, whatever. |  | | |

he's only there because he;s a Yes man for Jenkins & Morgan.
If he had balls he would not of started Gomis today, which makes me think it's out of his hands Contract or over ruled by the powers that be.
Sacking Monk is not the answer YET,
But unless that team is changed, whether it's Dropping Ashley Captain or not coz he ain't leading any team at the Moment,Taylor and KI and trying something different
then NO OTHER OPTION.
There are players who do give 100 % not even getting a chance at the moment, Why??

It may be unwelcome to say so, but unless we try him up front, I'm not certain what Ayew brings to the team.
He can't beat a man for pace, can't tackle and gets in the way because his positional sense is so poor. He's also arguing with his team mates all the time.
We saw more from Routs in that 20 minute spell than from either Ayew or Montero in the whole game. |
Should have started with Routs on the right and Ayew down the middle. At least we would have created a load of chances then. |  |

The transfer fees of players brought in this year do not even equal Bony's transfer fee 2 years ago.

I am not so sure he is a 'yes' man. I really hope he is not. They saw something in Gary and made the decision to appoint him and they have been successful on that front for years. The guy has been absolutely brilliant. The problem they have now is how to support him or sack him as performances are getting as bad as ML's and the end of his stint. Unfortunately European competition and unprecedented injuries are not part of the picture this time either...... | |

The bank balance is totally relevant. If you ain't got he dosh you can't pay. We lost shed loads shipping out MLs signings and then having to bring in replacements. Why release players if you cannot bring in better? It all goes on the balance sheet and we have spent up there with most of the clubs in our position. I accept there are notable exceptions.
