Preston review. 17:19 - Nov 1 with 9536 views | 442Dale | Brilliant display. What stood out the most was how well we defended, especially at set pieces when that 'orrible elbower of doom Davies came on. That we didn't miss Allen illustrated the effectiveness of yet another Hill tactical masterstroke as he employed the in-vogue midfield diamond. Done and Henderson scared them to death with their runs, even from long balls forward and goal kicks when Henderson stood 20 yards behind their back four and ran back past their retreating defenders. Wiseman was all over the place by the end, he didn't want the ball coming anywhere near him. Logan's easily up there with Heaton and Hahnemann as the safest keeper we've ever had. Was almost confident that he'd save that penalty (that and the strange booking for O'Connell were the only errors by a ref who managed the game really well). We can't afford to keep Logan at this level, but that's at this level....

Preston review. on 19:37 - Nov 1 by TVOS1907 | Whitey should retweet that. 'Wisey' was in the bar after the game and in deep conversation with Lillis on the car park afterwards. Meanwhile, Buchanan was knocking on a door on Willbutts Lane with a pizza in his hand. Moonlighting as a delivery man, maybe? |
I don't follow him. No reason to. Again, I apologize if what I've seen of some of your heroes was so bad that it makes my opinion of them something you don't like to hear/read. But as you or anyone on here can testify, I'm a decent bloke without agendas who says it as he sees it. Cracking result for you today and that pleases me. Not as good as ours, but still... And 442, yep, United really are that bad aren't they? We were a few minutes away from beating Bristol last weekend after battering em for 90 minutes. We've just turned over the biggest club in the division. I'm agreeing with you - anybody could get out of this division. Including Dale. Personally, I'd prefer us to remain down here and go for promotion next term. We're getting better. I feel like I have my club back. But we're not ready for the second tier again.

We aren't ready either - but our players don't seem to want to hang around!

Preston review. on 23:43 - Nov 1 with 1788 views | rochedale | The difference today was that we were clearly more clinical. We knew that we were going to have to absorb serious pressure - which we did for the first 20 mins, but we finished our chances, PNE didn't. CL wasn't really tested until the second half. Games like today the mantra has to be 'finish your chances', we did. Second half our defence was superb. Was I the only person in the Pearl St that knew Logan was going to save that penalty? Awesome result today.

Preston review. on 23:51 - Nov 1 with 1765 views | rochedale | PS - if I had to be hyper-critical, I would have to say Bennett looked like he had a few meat pie prior to kick off... but apart from that, what a performance!!

Wiseman isn't a hero; he was a bloody good player for Dale who helped us to promotion and then to our joint-highest league finish. In spite of today, he's playing for a club who are, going off the league table, better than both Dale and Barnsley. He's also playing international football, albeit for a poor team in a rather dubious manner. There just seems to be one big negative in his career over the past six years and it would be interesting to know why. I think we both got three points today. And yes, you are a decent bloke.

Going up this season would hurt us and our young players' development, in my humble opinion. But there's nothing I can see that is negative about a Dale promotion. It would financially secure an already well run club for years and hopefully help to lure out a few thousand extra supporters. We're well into the season now, it's not a blip of form. I saw the worst side I've seen this season today. And they're supposedly one of the best in the division. Dale were more than a match for us and had we come to Spotland and tried to take you on, I reckon we'd have seen a different result. But we didn't. We played it perfectly. And today. Tactics innit? So aye, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Dale in the top six come May. Much though depends on whether the likes of Doney and Allen are retained in January.

But that's the point - he was a good player for you and a bad one for us so our opinions will be different. PNE aren't up where they are because of Wiseman. I've no idea how he played today, but I'd put my hat on it that he was poor at defending. You too are a decent bloke. Fiver's int post.

Make it a tenner; I'll share it with roccy so he can pay for a taxi home after the Doncaster game.

Preston review. on 01:58 - Nov 2 with 1630 views | AlexF | this is a seriously great performance and result. In his BBC interview, Hilly hopes the supporters will get behind his decisions to not overspend, to stay within means, not overstep the mark. Keith, trust me here, we are all with you come what may. I cant remember a more together, more believing squad in all my years supporting the club.

Preston review. on 12:39 - Nov 2 with 1216 views | DomDale | That was superb. I thought Preston were very good, as I did in the League Cup match. The first 15 minutes or so they were all over us and I feared we'd be on the end of a mauling. The remaining 75 mins... well we know what happened. Result made better when I went into Manchester post game and shared a train with a hundred or so morose Preston fans. Was certainly funny listening to their post-mortem of the match. We've come up against most of the fancied teams this season and not just coped but actually outplayed them. I'm not one for getting carried away ( it took my until about mid-April to actually believe we'd get auto promotion last season) but I do not fear any team in this league. I'd be over the moon with safety and a little cup run but I can't help but dream about which league we may be in next season!!
