That penalty decision 16:27 - Sep 22 with 10448 viewsTFP

Im sat behind the goal in the pearl street end and I'm incredulous about that penalty and red card. Are defenders not allowed to even brush an opponent with their shoulder? Hope we don't pay for it

Most comical decision by the ref was to tell their player to move back when he was standing in front of our player, on the pitch, when he was about to take a throw in.

That's a new one on me.

Meant to be two yards away

maybe we should have one of those cardboard cutout refs behind the goal they have in european matches, be more use.

How would that help with offsides?

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

nice to see you took it in seriousness....

but seriously, the lino was a joke throughout, missed numerous elbows down the main stand side from their guys, ref seemed to ignore them too, clearly we're not paying these refs enough.

Life is a game of fate.

Never a pen or foul. McIntyre nicked the ball, the player moved into him and was caught by Lillis after the ball had gone. I also thought their lad was offside.
On GMR Bell has seen the replay and claims no contact with McIntyre.

Poll: What is it to be then?

I am sure that you cant use video evidence to defend yourself upin an appeal and the ref has to agree he made a wrong decision which he wont do as he loses points so I am not hope ful. I remember Hill saying this when we appealed agains Perkins sending off in play off semi

A wrong decision which cost us the game.

As stated above Coleman's substitusions didn't help our response.

If any team in League2 was there for the beating with only 10men it was Dagenham.

One substitution strange the other very sensible

The worry was the ease with which the second goal was scored

I am told that the penalty and sending off were correct and tv shows McIntyre fouled the man.

Just seen it, McItyre certainly wasn't the last man.

It still wasn't a foul in my small mind.

I think that if it was a Dagenham player that had gone in on one of ours in the same way most of us would have been shouting for a penalty. However it was one of those incidents which could have gone either way depending on the officials. I think we were unlucky with the decision but that doesn't excuse what happened after McIntyre was sent off. We went to pieces and the tactics and substitutions were quite baffling.

and one of our management team on GMR says he has seen the video and that McIntyre didn't touch him.

My view was that the Dagenham player was slow to shoot, McIntyre nicked the ball then Lillis snotted him. Ball was gone in a fair tackle by then, imho.

Fair enough I haven't seen the replay so will wait and see just retelling what I've been told. I wait for the highlights with interest

He doesn't have to be. He has to be the one who, in the referee's opinion, denied the goalscoring opportunity.
