| Forum Thread | Buckland AFC v QPR reserves.....&......Elburton Villa v QPR Youth at 23:51 27 Jul 2011
the 8th game of the week and the last for the reserves on this pre-season tour of devon & cornwall Rangers won 1.0 with a scrappy goal from Leon Clarke on 65 mins the game should have reached double figures on chances created/wasted at one point i think clarke did hit the proverbial barn door....in a field 3 fields behind the field that the actual goal was in! anyway the team lined up as follows cerny, harriman, shittu, ramage, borrowdale, cook, doughty, rowlands, hulse, clarke, german rangers pretty much dominated proceedings, but this was one of those games where the ball would not hit the back of the net, the keeper making a number of good saves and plucking crosses out of the air at will, the ball pinging round the 6 yard box and cleared off the line and clipping the post countless times.....what little Buckland could muster was dealt with by big dan at the back.....and radek made at least one crucial save with little else to do hulse was ineffectual and went off half time, rowlands also took a knock and was replaced. shariff, balanta, andrade & parmenter were all used but annoyingly hewitt was left out along with pellicori who also didnt feature...in fact during the warm up it seemed the pelican couldnt get a kick about with anyone and just bumbled round on his own. i believe the squad were to head back to london immediatley after this game so perhaps one boot was still on the coach .....as far as finishing was concerned anyway Buckland have quite a good set up and the pitch and ground possibly the best we have seen this past week. they finished as champions in the SW league above all the teams the hoops have played so far and there was a respectable turn out of locals and a good contingent of rangers fans. Hi to the Torbay hoops!!!!! so one final game left this week and that is the youth team v Elburton Villa tommorrow (thursday) its so close i can walk there you r'sss!! more..... | Forum Thread | Saltash 0 QPR reserves 4 ....&..... St Austell 1. QPR youth 8 at 23:31 25 Jul 2011
another run out for the ressies tonight this time with the absentees from the Italian squad taking part too. Rangers won 4.0 with goals from German, Hulse/OG, clarke/OG, and Parmenter taking to the field were Cerny, harriman, borrowdale, rowlands, shittu, ramage, doughty, clarke, german, hulse, balanta subs: olley, pujtnins, sharif, parmenter, andrade, cook, pellicori, hewitt rangers started sloppily and Saltash were awarded an early penalty which was saved by Cerny then the R'ssss took the lead in the 12th minute through german, after which rangers dominated but created few clear cut chances Hulse going close perhaps and the ashes keeper making one or two fine saves too....Saltash pretty much packed the box when under the cosh and enjoyed a few sporadic attacks without threatening the rangers goal. Big dan stifling every through ball and mopping up nicley. . in the second half rangers created more but it took 2 goals from Hulse & Clarke to increase the lead, both could have gone down as own goals ....Hulse's effort certainly getting a big touch from a reds defender (59 mins) and clarkes being palmed in by the keeper (65 mins) goes to show these mugs cant score against a team god knows how many leagues below the conference unless its a scrappy goal bundled in over the line from inside the 6 yard box the youngster parmenter blasted a shot from outside the box to make it 4 with about 15minutes left and by this stage we had started to get behind the home teams back line alot more but andrade wasted his chances, pulling shots wide of the post 2 or 3 times after working his way through also the young mo sharif does well to open a chance for himself but without the finishing touch pujtnins, cook, andrade, sharif, parmenter & pellicori were all used in place of cerny, germa, balanta, hulse, clarke & ramage so after a slow start another convincing win for the QPR tour, although we could or should have added more to the scoreline. a fair few rangers fans in attendance and the youth team with birch and gallen came to watch too. St Austell tommorrow (tues) for the youth team again so will add something the minute i get in!!! [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

| Forum Thread | Reserves v Truro City & youth team v Liskeard at 10:45 24 Jul 2011
after the 3 first team games this week, saturday saw the R'sss second string take on Truro City at Treyew Road, Cornwall. we won 4.2. after a very good workout for the players on a hot sunny day. after going a goal down very early on, clarke pulled one back from the penalty spot and Rowlands sublime finish put the hoops 2.1 up at half time. in the second half Andrade executed a very nice finish after cutting in from the left to make it 3.1 before Rowlands got his second to put the game out of reach. Truro then battled for a late goal to add some respectability to the scoreline. apparanetly many of the locals were expecting the first team proper and I had to answer many questions of who's he? and where are the first teamers ? The entrance of £10 was deemed a rip off by some people for our second string and youth players. however there was a very good turn out and a great number of rangers fans in attendance. Hi to any south west hoops i may have chatted to! amongst the starting line up were : putnins, borrowdale, cook, clarke, rowlands, andrade, harriman, Doughty, Balanta, Germain (as sub) walker from the youth team no sign of Hulse again, no sign of the peilcan or alberti. rangers wore the red & black second kit from last season with 'gulf air' still intact!! even the veteran Barry Hayles was playing for the home side! sorry i dont have the full team line up but the stadium announcer had to be heard to be believed. well, it is cornwall......
