What is the logic of Parody Williams.? 14:28 - Dec 30 with 1910 views | ReslovenSwan1 | "I love Grimesy and Culls who is a true Swansea jack. Developing players in this wonderfully club is a great honour and the academy are producing great players. This is an ideal place for young players and coaches like me to be. We are building something and the me and the board and developing something special. Sheez is tremendous and I see on the training field we are getting better every week. I am working on Darling to show him he belongs here with us " "Obviously if someone triggers the buy out clause I would be interested in leaving this wonderful opportunity mid season and I have to look after number one. It means nothing to me if they are rivals of this wonderful club. I would never encourage Darls not to sign and join me at my new potential club in the Summer. I rate Sheez and it would not be right not to offer him a step up. Andy will understand". It is a parody. [Post edited 30 Dec 2024 14:35]

7 sackings , 6 voluntarily dismissed with one which is the topic of discussion, I'm not happy if what is being believed to be happening is the case , only because if he goes it just means yet more disruption tempered that the Club could see money coming in should WBA buy out his contract but then we have to replace him and that may require the Club paying out someone else's contract.

I do not accept Swansea managers who are given time to build something have to leave at the first sniff of a l pay rise. Potter dis missed links to Celtic I recall. Williams should already have a gentleman s agreement with Coleman not to make disruptive waves mid season. Fans make a big deal of managers being forced out by K&L. Now Williams has no excuses for disloyalty in my opinion.

I am not sure we can buy into a "gentleman's agreement" If Luke loses the next 3-4 games - should there be an agreement in place that Coleman and co publically back him to avoid any disruptive waves mid-season. Don't underestimate the role of Luke's agent. It is was is best for his client not necessarily Swansea City.

He gets paid successful or otherwise. All these managers should be willing to do at least 18 months especially if offers are from team barely bigger than Swansea.

It has been reported on here and again this morning that there are whispers that the new ownership would prefer another manager to Williams. Maybe Luke has heard these rumblings too and so Denis sending two messages ....one that he is happy here and enjoying the journey and is looking ro complete that.....and by " offering " a door to WBA he has a ba k up plan whilst also getting the owners computer up or shut up.

A gentlemans agreement? How naive is that? The man has a contract, he doesn;'t need a gentlemans agreement, to start with it's easier to break than a contract, to end with, why does a man with a contract.... Loyalty is a very pliable concept these days. A person will be claiming they'd need to be dragged out kicking and screaming one week and be gone the next. Disloyalty doesn't need an excuse, it is what it is. And when the next club is offering a good chunk more in wages, who expects any different than a goodbye? It doesn't often happen that manager turns down a big pay rise, specially if it means a jump to a bigger club, or even just moving up a division as when LW came to us. PS, was LW loyal to his previous club?

When Brendan took Swansea, playing beautiful football, to the Premier league he had multiple offers to leave. He had a gentleman's agreement with the chairman to do one season in the premier league at least and signed a contract with a whopping £7m buyout clause. It happened, Brendan had an ego and told the chairman he would only break his contract for a big club. Liverpool came in paid the £7m and everyone was happy. Martin is not of the same class as Brendan. Neither is Williams it seems. Gentleman's agreements count when class people cooperate and managers have the talent to match. I doubt Martin will be trusted again in the Premier league. The odds were i jhis favour with the parachutes. Al he had to do was beat Leeds in a one off. [Post edited 31 Dec 2024 23:46]

The buy out clause was put into his contract in the December. A very professional move from Huw aJenkins at the behest of Brendan.👍 Ego’s or otherwise, let’s remember he didn’t have to sign it.
