Things go wrong when you relax. 15:55 - Aug 22 with 2959 viewsReslovenSwan1

Mike Lynch established and sold one of UK s top tech companies to Hewlett Packard a few years back. A whopping $11 billion cost.

Afterwards HP complained they did not get what they expected. People in the business tell me that the movers and shakers in big companies do not always know their onions. The business was data collection and processing.

They took Lynch and his no 2 to court and last month lost their case in the USA. Lynch it seems drowned and his number 2 died in a road accident over the last week or so.

The sailing community do not understand how the ship sank.

And you get my vote, specially after that life saving heart surgery you performed on that bloke who collapsed by McDonalds using just a safety pin, a coke tin and a broken biro.

That was particularly challenging as I had both hands tied behind my back by those gangsters after I stopped them selling drugs to young children and kittens.

How you managed to train those kittens to use their claws to cut his chest open and then hold the skin back (in 20 seconds) I will never know.

Looks like criminal charges are in the pipeline , ignoring weather warnings , not docking closer to the harbour when advised .

Luxury yachts are playthings for the rich and famous , look what I own , it seems these vessels are better suited to be berthed at Monte Carlo or Monaco , not in a tempest .

Lives have been lost , many innocently irrelevant of dodgy dealings out of their control .

That transcript between the Costa Concorda Captain and the Italian Coastguard before the liner tilted was unique to be then broadcast later on tele , a real eye or ear opener .

Having watched such shows as " aircraft investigation " and Pilot debrief" it seems quite a regular occurrence that with elite passengers pilots or captains are pressured to keep elite passengers happy and take unnecessary risks.

One incident was the singer Aaliyah I think her name was. He massive entourage expanded with too much luggage and the plane crashed overloaded from Bahamas. The pilot chances it rather than demanding passengers or luggage needed another flight.

Mr Lynch may have been told about vad weather but was a on top of the world after his court win and relaxed to much perhaps A huge load had been lifted off his shoulders in June 2024.

I wouldn’t have thought Mike Lynch would have had any say in the safety aspects of the ship no matter how relaxed he was. That was firmly in the hands of the Captain and crew.

The captain, who has been reported as one of the first on the liferaft!!

The captain of the ship anchored alongside the yacht, believes the 73m high mast was the main cause of the sinking? - saying, "The centre of gravity is too high with this extreme mast"

Everyday above ground ... Is a good day! 😎

Wasnt Aaliyah the child that R Kelly famously married after coercing her to falsify her age on legal documents twenty five years before he was suddenly outed as a child abuser and sex trafficker?

The mast could be a factor, but whether the retractable keel was fully lowered is the other part of the equation.

I don't care what Res watched, tv is full of nonsense. The pilots and sea captains do not take risks because they understsnd the consequences.

If a captain r pilot is aware of an issue they will act on it, if the passengers do something they shouldn't then lie abot it, what's the boss to do?

A pilot will pay with his life, usually; a captain may have more chance of surviving but look at Sicily today, they're searching for someone to blame, someone to lock up. If found to be negligent that's their careers over anyway.

In fairness, although I disagree with most what you post, you stay mainly free of thinly veiled hate posts and avoid ( mainly) prolonging oldxsoats, something a few on here could learn from.
You make me think anyway, right or wrong .

Well thatd come under negligence which could see charges pressed, depending on who is responsible. They could have a hard time proving that? I suppose there's a chance it could be computer error, all these modern craft have a lot of computer controlled gadgets these days.

I suppose there's a chance the Captain was a complete idiot but would a very rich person put an idiit in charge of a massively expensive yacht?
