Kieran Maguire has confirmed on the price of football podcast, he has been contacted by people in the media confirming Matt Southall and Glenn Thomas interest in Rochdale and are being looked on favourably by the board.
Buckle in, this will be horrific if this board get their way, could be the end of our club and I don't think I am exaggerating sadly.

I think we need clarification whether this is true. Any truth in this will see all trust in any of the current board being lost, not just the two we've now managed to remove.

This can't be serious. Rumours of Glenn Thomas et. al. interest must surely be somebody being mischievous? I can't believe for one minute that anyone involved in running a football club, who has an ounce of respect, especially for our club and any common sense would even open an e-mail from these two toxic entities, let alone get themselves into any kind of conversation.
Rather than speaking to these kind of sharks, we should be taking out injunctions to prevent them (or their representatives) ever getting into conversations with anyone involved in the business side of the club.

The shares were in his wife's name and she was not at the meeting. I think I have the story right. This almost certainly saved the club from oblivion.

Perhaps Mark Hodkinson could write a sequel to The Overcoat Men - Tracksuit Man and the Boy Wonder, to provide another perspective on who did what in the past.
It took a young boy to stop Tommy Cannon and Tracksuit Man Butterworth certainly got my vote over the Overcoats in this weeks proceedings
As "Custodians" all the major shareholders of the club who dont wish to sit on the Board and play a formal active role should be looking to move their shares on to new owners. I'll have more faith in what they have to say when they stop using the "elite level of football" bollox, which was a term deriving from a particular situation arising from the Covid governance issues last year

I don’t feel we need to worry too much about the Altman approach now. He had his say on Tuesday and said that he would use his own funds to purchase the relevant amount of shares and not use the club to leverage any further finance. He also stated that he would be happy to present his plans to the shareholders and answer any questions.
Can’t say fairer than that really.
By the way did anybody notice whose Dale shirt he had framed and hanging on the wall behind him (blue and black striped so I assume it was Dale) Think it had a 13 or 18 on it.
Was he trying too hard with that? Maybe , but at least he was trying and not trying to bamboozle us with before and after pictures of Reading, Doncaster and Fleetwood’s grounds. Pathetic. How out of touch could you be regarding the basic requirements of the football club and its supporters. |  |

But the questions about whether their investment would better suit the Club than CD or Morris' 4 names or protecting the ground etc in the event they had majority control would still need asking. The "Morris 4" is a very interesting point.
GM resigned as a Director of the club in 2010, thats 11 years ago, during which time he has not managed to find a future custodian for his shares. Then all of a sudden he has 4 possible Director candidates... seems strange to me that during 11 principally good years these people did not come forward, but now times are tough, GM is able to promote them as possible Directors. The must be true Dale Fans
GM and his era paid £0.50 for their shares, the going rate seems to be between £2 and £6 depending on who you are dealing with. As and when deals go through I hope these custodians are transparent about the selling price and what happens to the "profit", perhaps they could give it back to the club. As Custodians I'm sure they wont want to profit from their passion / hobby.
The same question goes for CD who potentially made a large profit from the sale of his shares to the American Shareholders, but this seems to be forgotten. Transparency Please.
If more shares are not to be issued ( good IMO ) there must be a succession plan on the existing shareholding. If shareholders simply wish to own shares but not participate in the managing of the club, its a long road to a slow death as we have no energy or strategy in the Boardroom with the necessary shareholding to drive things forward, or the ability to "Manage" the employed executives and staff.
This week has demonstrated that the Shareholders run the Club as that's the Company Law that we must abide by, and those same Shareholders who protected the Club also have a responsibility for provide a platform to move forward, which might / probably will involve them moving the share on to Custodians New.
New Money might not be available, but surely New Blood ( preferably Blue !) is. | | | |

He has put far more money into the club over the years than the initial amount, and if he was just interested in making a profit then I’m sure he’d have done it years ago.
He was involved in the work that uncovered some of the issues around the supposed deal to sell the club on Tuesday.
If Graham Morris has personally vouched for these 4 then rest assured they will be trust worthy.
Having saved the club he loves from extinction with killie all those years back and then put over 30 years graft why the hell would he risk it for a few pounds. | | | |
