Of relegation.
Obviously didn’t continue on from Russell Martin’s successful foundations he left at the club.

The title is football forum, I’m taking the recent precedence that any football topic on here not Swansea related can be turned in to a conversation about Russell Martin is what people want.

I do recall last season a few folk posting that the then MK Dons manager had thrown out the Russell Martin blueprint and they were better for it.

League two they are now.

well it could be argued Martin failed to build on the foundations left by Cooperafter all we finished fourth in Coopers last season losing playoff finalists yet finished 15th the following season under Martin

so the same argument could be used.

It most certainly could, but having ditched the Martin way they are now in league two.

Conversely Luke Williams at Notts County who cites Russell Martin’s philosophy of ball domination and possession as the key to his teams success this season. At that level and with Notts County’s investment he has done remarkably well.

Next season is Martin’s Swansea crossroads. Let’s hope he succeeds. To do so in next seasons championship will be a huge achievement. I say that with the teams coming down, and the teams coming up.

There was a brilliant squad built at MK Don's that has been cherry picked, the foundation was superbly built by Martin and taken in by Manning.

Last summer they lost some good players and didn't reinvest wisely enough.......a reminder for a lot of teams.

I remember reading a few MK fans saying it was much better post Martin, I bet they've changed their minds.

Even so this poster is still a critic who needs convincing though I hope he proves to be the messiah that some think he is.

Messiah,worship, god, legend etc.
All terminology not worthy of football references.

Football is a religion to many, some players do become legends, like Pele, Cruyff....Maradona.

When Manning was doing well ( better that Martin) it was stated MK Dons were better off without him and his success was nothing do do with Martin's foundation.

When MK dons are relegated two full years after Martin left (with Manning long gone) it is proof the Martin's foundation / legacy must have been a bit duff".
