This going back to work stuff, he specifically used construction workers and manufacturing in his waffle last night. Both those industries never stopped (on the whole) working, mainly due the Government stating that they were to keep operating right from the beginning.

On the tube bit, we’ve already ascertained that the picture doing the rounds this morning was a fake. The picture was taken in early March just before lockdown. It’s now been removed by twitter.

Vallance (chief scientific advisor) reports to the PM and cabinet secretary. Whitty (CMO) is a civil servant so presumably reports to the permanent secretary of the Department of Health. | |
