Joining Sheffield Utd on a season long loan. They made a goalscorer at this level out of Leon Clarke so anything is possible.

And apparently trying to offload Sylla too.

After years and years of utter madness, where is this commonsense suddenly emanating from?

Woudn't begrudge him being a big success there, and good luck to him.

It hasn't worked out for Conor here, but he's put in plenty of effort and maybe there's still a goalscorer in there somewhere.

If this is true then Happy Dance!

However, if we also loan out Sylla, then guaranteed one of the new strikers gets long term injured, and we're back relying on Big Smith for goals.

Not just a loan but he's had his contract terminated by mutual consent!

Not on loan - contract terminated! Bit extreme.
Thanks Conor. Always did his best, never quite worked out for him.

Bare bones.

I thought same too, can only assume some sort of recall clause will be inserted in the loan contract. That aside in the event of an injury it would be worrying having to rely on the two new lads and Smith for goals, especially as Smyth and Oteh are both being made available for loan deals. Maybe SM thinks he can make a striker out of BOS ?

Just had a notification form the QPR app that his contract has been terminated by mutual consent

Contract terminated by mutual consent.

As for the strikers - he will play Eze as a 10 off the main striker if one of Wells or Hemed is not fit.

We have Wells, Hemed, Eze and Smith as 4 options for 2 places in the 4-4-2.

Also Smyth if he doesn’t go on loan.

We'll he had to move on at some stage his contract is up for renewal at the end of the year and FFP will make sure we are not holding too many senior players in the squad. I can't help feeling every time I watch him play that there's a good striker hiding in there and if United can get Leon Clarke to deliver a goal every two games last season then they may just be the ones to unlock his talent.

When you look at some of the other teams squads in the division there is a real divide being created by the more wealthier teams, let's hope we can grind out enough results to keep us safe with the players we have because after today the loan window shuts and we still look dodgy in defence.

Every manager has given him a chance, albeit he was probably played out of position and in and out of the team when he first arrived.

He has got worse and his confidence has totally gone.

He needs a fresh start and so do we with other forward options.

To think we spent a considerable chunk of the Austin money on him.

He tried hard and best wishes to him as he tries to get going again.

Yup, shame it never really seemed to click for him. Never doubted his work rate and effort, but couldn’t quite pull it off at this level or with us. Complete opposite to the overweight waster that was JET who had talent and skill in abundance, but also the poorest of attitudes.

Tuesday night seemed to encapsulate his time with us. Plenty of running, some good moves and touches without being devastating and the one decent on-target shot he gets off gets cleared by Matt Smith off the line!

I wish him better luck than he’s had with us, seemed like a decent bloke. Sod’s law, he’ll tear it all up at Sheff Utd now!

Cant help but like Washington he gave a 100% he just didn't have the talent or a decent partner up top to really make a difference , I think he would work well with a target man in a 4-4-2 but that's just my opinion , can't blame the club they took a gamble and it didn't pay off , I was quite excited when we got him as it was the sort of signing we should be making ,
I think we need to keep sylla , if we get injuries to Hemed or wells then we need back up

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

It makes sense to terminate the contract rather than loan when the player is out of contract at the end of the season. Similar to what Rangers/Boro did with Baptiste.

If we loaned CW, CW would be entitled to the full wage he's currently on. SUFC would either have to assume the full wage, or QPR would have to contribute to part of it

QPR want a clean break and don't want to assume any of his wages

CW wants to get the amount of wages he's on now, so he'd be reluctant to agree to terminate his contract. However, he knows hes out of contract next year, and he hasn't been playing too well. He wants to be guaranteed a wage next year and also ensure he's still playing in the Championship rather than L1. So in exchange for agreeing to terminate his contract and taking a lower wage at SUFC, SUFC have likely offered him an extra year on his contract (similar to what Rangers offered with Baptiste)

Seems odd to me.
Both Sheffield United and Millwall allegedly interested.
You'd have thought we'd have gone for a loan deal rather than contract termination. Perhaps we did, but it is better to free up wages, so we can replace, rather than lose the deal.

It didn't work for him at LR. Given what Leon Clarke did last season, under Wilder, it will probably be better for Conor.
Good luck to him.
