Derby were proper gash.
We played poorly in the first half, yet Derby was so bad we could get a 2-0 lead without even really trying.
They were as bad as that Oxford half, probably worse.
Paal was poor and got beat too many times. Luckily, the rest of the defence was on their game. We did well by putting this team to the sword and scoring our chances. If you want to progress that's what a team needs to do and we did it. More Marti magic.
But the amount of space they left for all of our midfielders was crazy. They looked and played like a L1 side. If they get relegated, I am not sure even Eustace can polish that turd. They only have one decent player.
I like Varane but Derby made him look like Xavi, Chair the West London Messi, Koki a Step-Over Ronaldo and well Field ... err like Field.
Marti knew it before the game, saving Smyth and Morgan for our next run of tough games.

I think the reason MC picks him when fit is because of the fact we don't actually have another left back! I thought he did OK last night, much improved set pieces.

Hitting near post corners & free kicks are the most difficult. Generally the near post, which is the most vulnerable defensively, is heavily protected. And the reason why we play a lot of near post balls........the reason why we concede, and I have no evidence that we do, down his side is because the players supporting him do not support him like Smyth does on the right and Dunne is generally a better defender but not as good as Paal going forward. You cannot have everything otherwise he would not be here. | | | |

Paal has that Beckham type delivery in his locker but needs to be in the right position, ideally at least 10 yards back from the corner flag / bye line,
Which unfortunately brings me back also to those corners in extra time at Coventry the other other night,
I'm fairly sure Paal was stood on the ball with Chair 5 yards infield to potentially receive the short corner,

But my main point is Paal from one side, and likely Chair from the other, can hit very good inswinging crosses, just not for some reason, from the corner flag,
In the final few minutes at Coventry, on Paal's preferred side, he was standing on the corner spot, with the option to play short to Chair, when it should have been the other way round surely. | | | |

It's only in the last few games where I believe he has been told to fire them at the near post, a more heavily defended area, hence a low success rate. That is down to Marti and Xavi. I think all differences of opinion are fair as long as they don't get personal. I have been on the end of personal attacks on here and have taken lengthy breaks as a result. I have come back because it is the best QPR website bar none.
I think it is perfectly fine to disagree with another posters pov and submit your reasons for doing so. What is not fine and shouldn't be tolerated by the moderator is personal insults and name-calling.
