The transfer window deadline day thread 21:03 - Jan 27 with 27725 views | KeithHaynes | Could be the most interesting day in years. Clubs are playing some serious chess games. And agents are going to ensure it’s better than any soap opera.

This transfer window deadline day thread on 09:10 - Jan 28 by raynor94 | Nsr, just reading If Brighton sell Caicedo to Arsenal for £60 million, it will mean they have received £180 million for 5 players in the last 18 months That's some business |
Potter has a fantastic eye for a player with potential. He has earned Brighton a fortune and along with Arsenal created one of the most entertaining teams in the Premier. he should have stayed there.

The transfer window deadline day thread on 11:32 - Jan 28 by KeithHaynes | And today the Brighton player who Arsenal bid 60 million for puts in a transfer request on social media and is banned from the training ground until February 1st. These players are pathetic at times. Even ours. |
It’s clearly the managers fault for not managing him properly.

Was it an isolated incident or was he the third to refuse to play for him since he became manager? If it’s the latter then I would tend to agree, there is certainly a pattern there.

It really can't be easier, if you want the player pay the price. An interesting comment in there about Swansea trying to get him to stay.

Interesting indeed, goes someway to the belief that there'll be little movement on incomings, if he wants to go, let him go, last thing we need is another disgruntled player moping around the place, with his head not right to be able to get out of bed.

Saying that the owners may very well be happy with pocketing say 1.5 or so of that 2.2 mill so they will probably accept that if they do not get any more.

Personal terms agreed and a deal is close apparently. Oh well.

The transfer window deadline day thread on 18:39 - Jan 28 with 1987 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Mr Martin does not rate him and effectively pushed him to the door is the way i see it. Goal scoring 22 year old's with pace skill and an eye for goal are exactly what Swansea are looking for I would think. MW wanted to stay at Plymouth , was keen on WBA and is keen on Rangers. Anywhere but Swansea. So why?Well that is pretty obvious. Cornick and Barnes are typical signings Vincent Tan would approve of.

Your second paragraph should be 100% true but under Martin, it seems not. Cornick I'm not sure about but barnes could actually be a decent signing, we need somebody up front with Piroe who has a bit of nous, who is streetwise.

I agree re Barnes, have been told be several burnley supporting mates that he's a consumate professional, he would be great leading the line, piroe would revel playing behind barnes.

Everytime I've seen him play, he's been a nuisance and a goal threat to the opposition, can't deny that we need a player of his ilk, if it comes off the East be singing his name proud and loud in no time, he's not one for the future though, which makes me think is he the type of player Martin wants, ?

It’s odd that you blame Martin when Josh Marsh is head of football operations.

Neither of those matter if our owners will not sanction the spending. The owners have form for saying we are advanced in some deals then nothing. As an aside, I have still not renewed our season tickets and I do wonder how sales are doing. Obafemi gone, Whittaker likely to leave, only Piroe and Cullen for strikers, no wing backs, a keeper short, how has this affected season ticket sales? If at all.

You got to wonder as to what the end game is for the Yankee doodles, they need us to be successful to feed the mouths of the 28 other mouths that need feeding yet, they show little ambition to move us forward,

Weds and the next month afterwards leading up to the international break will answer that.

Feb 17th is the cut off for early bird tickets
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Lack of planning: 31 August 2021 Connor Roberts left for Burnley. The club would have known well in advance of that date that he would be leaving. We’ve had a few short term loans in Laird and Christie but as of today, 16 months or so and four transfer windows since Connor left we still don’t have a senior recognised right back at the club. I’m calling it now, the same situation will happen with Manning. Everyone and his dog knows he’s running his contract down and will leave in the summer, yet we don’t appear to be signing any left sided defenders which will leave us with precisely none. Will probably get a cheap premier league youngster who isn’t good enough on loan and he’ll sit on the bench and we’ll play Nathan Wood there or something.

We could still reach a compromise on his wage demands.

We signed Ogbeta. Martin didn’t give him a chance. From what I saw of him he was a better defender than Manning. Another problem all our managers have faced is persuading players who don’t want to come to Swansea to transfer to us. [Post edited 29 Jan 2023 11:34]

No chance. He’s a player in form there’ll be plenty of clubs after him and he can command a chunky signing on fee.
