How could i forget Brian connolly from 'the sweet', i saw a bbc 4 documentry on him once i think he had about 58 heart attacks a week or something but carried on to become the corpse with the most amazing hair.
it was like a shrunken witchdoctor head on a barbie wig.
sad

He used to be part of the furniture in the Gardeners in Uxbridge, and when the royalties ceased I would regularly bump into him in the wine aisle of Sainsburys in the aforementioned town. He was very shy and usually very drunk.

Acts I've seen,
Michael Franti Eugene Hutz When on form the best when off from the worst, Shane McGowan.
Met and photographed Michael Franti on the sea front at Brighton C2 many years ago, lovely bloke, easy to work with, understands what you want photographically and quietly gets on with it. Unlike that toss pot from Echo and the Bunnymen who threw a hussy fit, utter c..., good music though. My Franti photo is here www.JamesRGordonPhotography.com A good one of Cyril Regis too, even if I say so myself....some of my old photos I hate now, but those two, spot on. That farker from Soul 2 Soul flounced too, but again, good music. Some of these blokes are like Divaw, but not Mark E Smith. He's cool as fark.

An honourable mention to Ian Astbury . Great front man and great voice live and made playing a tambourine look cool almost as much as Plant did. Lost it a bit these days but then again haven't we all. Great in his prime though.

stuff of legend, sleeping in the back of one small van , With his LFW roadies, with their equipment and whatever pox-riddled girls the band handed round amongst themselves, constantly ripped on LSD, not washing for weeks on end.
naked dancers, sex-change footage playing on a projector whilst Dave , covered in fake blood, barked incoherent gibberish into the microphone.
stopping at Michael Stipe's house and spray painting the side of it with 'Michael Stipe, despite the hype, we still want to suck your big, long pipe'.
