I agree 100%.

He was great for us in the Championship, in fact amazing and without him we would not have been promoted. same can be said about Warnock.

But just like Warnock he is not really Premiership quality.

I am not an 'Adel' knocker but the simple fact is that we are a far better 'team' without him. He may well still play a part in our survival but from the subs bench not from the staring 11.

The Premiership takes no prisoners. Time to move on

Interesting. Last year I said he was best used as a impact supersub. He may well come back in that role. Cetrtainly in the last two games without him we have looked much better balanced and 'teamlike'. I recognise his exceptional skills and trickery but fundementally its a team game and particularly in the Prem the level of skill AND application needed to rise above the team is currently beyond him on a regular basis.

Won the game for us v Fulham ,won the game v for us v Chelsea.Even H has praised him up numerous times this season.And that post 'worth the admision price alone' has been on this board untold times.When the players can be arsed to move into space and be up for the ball(like they were today) instead of hiding Adel will cause problems .Like the Remy goal v West Ham
Fair play to H he's got the team and substitutions right the last couple but to say we play shit BECAUSE of Adel is stupid.

So let's clarify this.
Undoubtedly one of the greatest players who has ever played for Rangers is now pushed aside in favour of lesser well paid mortals.
I really do hope he was injured as I'd be worried if he has gone back to being the most brilliant non playing footballer in the world.
Our line up today, even without Adel, was encouraging, 4-2-4 at times, but to think that he won't be involved again is just stupidity, by the management and our followers.
Remember Rooney didn't play for Munich in the week, which must mean he's finished.

And thats the thing

So many on here are passionate about Adel and see him through rose tinted specs.

We owe him a lot for his part in our last 2 seasons BUT he is not our 'saviour', he is not 'undroppable' and his flaws often outweigh his strengths.

If he doesn't throw a 'stroppy' he will have a part top play over the coming weeks. But its a team game and no one is bigger than the team.

I would love to see him back at his best, playing like he did in our promotion year but I don't think I will. And I am pretty sure he will be off in the summer, come what may. Then, just like when Warnock left, I will be grateful for all he did for us but of course that was his job and he was/is paid well for it

Anyone noticed that mackie was also dropped?

We are a far better team since that headless chicken was dropped.

Frankly he was embarrassing when he came on, missed another one on one with the keeper, how many is that this season? six or seven I can think of.

Its funny .I remember a few matches ago(cant remember what one) the general consencus was that Adel was the only one who was capable or even could be arsed to do anything creative.People were resigned to losing him and saying fair play to him he deserves a chance in a better team to realise his potential.
A couple of wins without him and he's surplus to requirements and even holds us back.

Mackie did ok- hit that shot early and the keeper kept it out, not actually a miss. Rolled a defender and got a free kick. Nothing to dig him out over I don't think.

Similarly for Adel, how can we know how he'd have played within that team? He might have shown flair and discipline in adundance ffs. I'd have no problem at all with Adel out wide today, it's through the middle that I think things get bogged down.

He cost us the win against Norwich, Reading and was a one man army giving the lead to Man U. I'm sure he wouldn't get into top Rangers 11. The number 10 shirt still belongs to Stan or Rodney. Then we have Roy W and Stainrod. For me Adel doesn't get in front of any of them.

Adel always seems to be a scapegoat... The simple reason we are better if confidence from the Dubai trip and remy and zamoras options upfront.

If taarabt has two people to pass too nested of none (as has been the case all season) we will benefit...

debate. I actually can't believe that all of a sudden Adel is being questioned.

For me without any doubt, he is our best player, he has played more games for us than anyone in the squad and he has improved his work rate beyond comprehension.. (When you consider the early days). Anyone remember Chelsea away thus year???

Hoilett and Townsend were great today but Adel is still our most creative player, I am sure Remy will score more goals with Him in the team.

There is a big part for him to play... It's down to the manager to find the right position and get the best out of his players. Surely if Harry is as good a manager as he thinks, then he can make it work for Adel.

As for the comparisons with him playing or Mackie playing?????? I can't believe what I'm reading..... If anyone wants Mackie in the the team over Adel then I'm lost.... we must be watching different sports???

I'm not anti Mackie as a man, he tries his guts out and loves this club.. fair play to him but he's Rubbish..... fact!

This is the Premier League? He should have scored today, no debate in my opinion but missing chances happens. The real incident that summed up his ability was when he was chasing down the line a ball that had come over the top... He failed to control it ( a basic requirement for any professional footballer) and then he fell over!

It's not Mackie's fault he gets picked but how anyone could suggest he is more worthy of a place in the team than Adel is beyond me.
