Siggy replacement(s) 10:34 - Jul 13 with 20074 views | LeonWasGod | Ok then, as it looks certainly he's off how do we adjust or who can we bring in: - to give us around 10-15 assists a season - to score about 8-10 goals a season - with a wand of a foot for set pieces - to do the dirty work running their b0ll0x off to closing down across the front line I'm struggling.

poor poor post so if back-office-finance Lisa-from-outside -London was calling the shots - what would that look like ? stick to your knitting

Siggy replacement(s) on 23:10 - Jul 14 with 2233 views | dameedna | We also have a string of wingers. Ayew, Routledge, Narsingh, Montero, Barrow, Dyer. We could loan out or sell 3 or 4 and bring in one one or two of Chadli, Miralles, Roberts, Snodgrass etc. Ayew can play no.10 if we need a no.10.
Siggy replacement(s) on 23:43 - Jul 14 with 2190 views | Jackofdreambeach | Arnautovic of Stoke? It'll need a few signings.Siggy or no Siggy Swansea City have the financial muscle to strengthen. People should question what of the Man city Bony transfer.Where did that money go? Williams, Andre Ayew, Gomis undisclosed, Shelvy oh....and the small matter of the sky bumper bonus landing in the club's bank balance. Time to strengthen not sell!

Siggy replacement(s) on 11:37 - Jul 13 by londonlisa2001 | People are seriously losing the plot. I like Siggy - he was our best player last season in terms of goals created and scored. I am not one of the 'sell him' camp at all. But anything over £40m for him is absolute genius. If it starts getting to £50m it's insane. 14 teams finished above us last season, none of which had Siggy. People are beginning to talk as though he's Messi (and the Everton fans are even worse - they should be fuming at spending that on him, not because they don't have the money, but because of what they could buy that's so much better for so much less). It was reported last night that Everton thought they had him. I imagine that was the £40m bid. Siggy says he won't go on tour, thinking it forces our hand to accept. We then turn the bid down and call the bluff of both Siggy and Everton which is frankly a ballsy call. Let's see what happens. But if we get say £45m for him, if we can't improve the team for that, including his loss, we have zero clue. |
Could you please show a little sensitivity here? This is a serious subject, over which quite a few grown men have shed a considerable amount of tears.

Siggy replacement(s) on 16:24 - Jul 13 by golly47 | Just putting it out there: Renato Sanches on loan. Not much of a set piece taker, but with PC's links surely coming to us should be an option. Toonstra and Ziyech would be shoe-ins though for Gylfi's place. |

Siggy replacement(s) on 10:48 - Jul 13 by E20Jack | We wont need to replace him with someone who scores 8-10 and assists 10-15. By selling him we allow a change of style. A style that doesnt just go through him and his delivery. The goals will be spread out more. So while his replacement may only get 5 goals and 5 assists for arguments sake. The likes of Ayew should be allowed more of the ball and to affect the game more, so will get 5 goals and 5 assists more than normal for example. This should be seen in all our remaining attacking players. As long as we have an able replacement (the one above is a good shout) then we will have done good business. |
Hopefully people strugling with this concept pre season now understand how stiffling one dimensional tactics inflate certain players statistics and hinder others - and the abolishment of which will restore other players statistics to natural form. Jordan Ayew was clearly suffocated by this last year and must have been incredibly frustrated. Glad to see our best player playing with freedom and it is bearing fruit.

Improvement in Ayew in last few games is more down to manager motivation and tactics. Ayew and Siggy would have combined well with decent manager like CC, who unlike OC encourages attacking and let players have a go at defenders.

Cheers mate. It was absolutely always going to be the case, as you knew too. The poster above said he would link up well with Gylfi, I disagree. They were in the side together for half a season last year and while they performed their tasks individually, they are polar opposites and would never work combined. If CC managed them then Gylfi would be toothless, restricted to pot shots at goal from a fairly static position on the field, slowing down our attacks (we saw this last year where Ayew was leading a counter and Gylfi slowed it down). If PC managed them then Ayew would be stiffled as we saw last term. So out of the two, fast flowing attacking football - or slow and pedestrian football relying in set pieces and pot shots... I think I know whicj style I choose, which means Gylfi had to get the boot, which happened thankfully. A lot of people will be starting to see this now but certainly will do their best to not admit it.

Funny mind The Res reckons Shaky isn’t a genuine Swans fan but thinks this E20 troll is great when neither of the twà ts is a fan full stop. Neither of them have ever set foot in Swansea and neither of them have been to a Swans game. The bindipper sees more games than the two of them put together and he rarely leaves his living room. Very strange.
