I note you state ".....many will be prepared to break ranks in overspending to gamble to get a slice of the pie" and that is quite right, but I am always puzzled by what slice of the pie they are actually after? After all, they don;t actually get a slice of the pie at all. Yes, the money from the Premiershit/Sky goes into their bank account, but then it goes straight back out to the players and agents in most cases. Consequently, the club is actually no financially better off than it would be if it was in league 2. The only people actually getting a slice of the pie are the players and agents. Plus the fans who actually attend games get ripped off and fcuked around with days and times moved for TV. The whole thing is a nonsense. Why would anyone think that having close contact with an opponent for only 30 mins per half be any safer than having the same contact for 45 each half?
Do players only sweat for the last 15 of each half? |
Time limit is based on the idea that they are jamming more fixtures into less time and that would allow the clubs to have their best players available at their peak for more of those games. Or more accurately would allow sky to push more games featuring star players |  | | |

I meant both really, when people cant really be a part of something in any way - other than via TV they evetually switch off and lose intrest.
Now we can argue the toss about ticket, prices and availability but whilst it's possible...
I cant see in years to come people salivating over the prospect of Man United v Barcelona in an empty white elephant that all these grounds would become when they can maybe go out and do something else.
Likewise all the sponsorship and advertisements etc will see a huge dip.

no one is saying they should start it at the moment they are just trying to put a plan together that could work, it may well not happen. But surely you make it realise how impossible it is. When one player, or coach, or manager gets it when the season starts, which one 100% will, both that team, and all the teams they have played in the past two days, will have to isolate for two weeks. Meaning nearly have the games once again get postponed as they will be playing so many in a short period of time. Then it starts again, one player gets it, and repeat. How on earth do they expect to play 100 games + in a month with no complications. Its just unrealistic, so why even bother trying and risking it all |  |
