The Boys are Back... 05:40 - Jul 25 with 10434 views | HulaHoop | Just unexpectedly bumped into the entire squad coming through the T3 customs hall about 15mins ago... I think they must have come in on Singapore Airlines or Cathy Pacific. I had a brief chat with Sparky & Hill, all accounted for & all very tired after a long, but enjoyable trip... Nice start to the day!! U R's...
The Boys are Back... on 06:27 - Jul 25 with 8817 views | SmartRs | They flew back BA Business Class. They flew out via Hong Kong on BA too. BA still operates a few flights in/out of Terminal 3 and this is one of them. I'd have loved to have seen what they looked like after that flight from Singapore. If memory serves me right, I think it's about 13 hours. Knackering!

They were all on the BA016 from Singapore (the flight originated in Sydney)... It was "on chocks" at 05:23Hrs on stand 334, Terminal 3.

The Boys are Back... on 10:46 - Jul 25 with 8198 views | aston_hoop | they're showing the four year plan on the entertainment thingy on BA flights at the moment. That should have kept them busy for 1.5 hours of the flight at least

Even more minor point: I know the HKG flight was from Terminal 5. Didn't say it wasn't, just that the SIN flight goes to/from Terminal 3. PS: I'm ex-BA

Sorry, I was rushing about and read that they had come back via HKG. The CX thing threw me too. I'm exUA and only left LHR last month so I'm not too bad!!

Cue discussion about long haul/short haul aircraft from airline and airport people above. However, in short, I guess the QPR Air Asia plane doesn't do long haul...

....because the Air Asia plane in QPR colours is an Airbus A320 and has a more limited shorthaul range compared to a 747. The plane in QPR colours would need to stop and refuel several times to make it to London thus making the journey much longer. Also, Business Class on a shorthaul aircraft is not comparable to that on a longhaul aircraft i.e. BA Business Class has seats that become flat beds. In this case, flying in the Air Asia plane would be like flying like plebs!

Yeah you're right, it doesn't have the range required, but hopefully TF will invest in some LHR slots & will be seeing one of his Airbus A330's flying the flag for us...
The Boys are Back... on 11:53 - Jul 25 with 7999 views | QPunkR | Errm, one more question then. At the risk of sounding like the guy staring into the gift-horse's gob...what's the point in us having a plane we're not gonna use? The players travel by train in the UK, unless we're gonna clock up masses of airmiles flying to Naarwich??

Very imaginative use of Norwich there, well done!
The Boys are Back... on 12:21 - Jul 25 with 7888 views | bosh67 | I once traveled back from Malaysia with the band Crowded House. It was 95 degrees in KL and when we arrived back it had been raining and cold, but when we touched down it was for once, 95 degrees in London. The temptation to say everywhere you go, you always take the weather with you, was almost overwhelming.
