Well, as I've said a few times lately, I'm kind of preparing for having to do some more work imminently! You wouldn't want a match report to write as well were that to happen this afternoon.
Celar's deepening nightmare leaves QPR well adrift – Report on 17:07 - Nov 24 with 4203 views | stainrods_elbow | Nice, natty, incisive report, picking through the miscellany of positives, negatives, and unbelievables on a strange rainstorm of a day and laced with a strychnine admixture of appalling stats, but who are the 'eight' first teamers still injured? I have five: JCS, Chair, Colback, Dembele and Frey, one more of whom (Colback) is, we're told, back this week. I noticed Marti exaggerated this in his WLS debrief too. I hope I'm wrong, but I still don't see Cifuentes being sacked soon (and remain disturbed by the thing being prematurely ushered in in rehearsed writing, whatver brickbats the usual suspects want to throw). If he could win a game sometime soon, though, it would do his chances of sticking around a shot of soul, and I've got a silly feeling we might sneak it against Cardiff. Celar's deepening nightmare leaves QPR well adrift – Report on 18:05 - Nov 24 with 3912 views | ParkRoyalR | Signs of distress are as we've seen before, Dunne trying to do too much and taking too many risks for the benefit of the team, (nearly caught out a 2nd time trying to beat his man by the dug-out as no-one else was showing) Cook dropping too deep and not stepping out to put pressure on his man as with the 1st goal, but beyond infuriating is him always giving up responsibility to bring the ball out, one square pass to Fox when he had more space nearly tipped me over the edge, Not deflecting from Dunne's mistake but I've seen this cycle before, Cook needs to step up and lead this team.

Well we could mention the worse defensive error this season, Cooks pathetic shank for Leeds 1st goal, not sure I saw it mentioned in match report but could be wrong. We have a fundamental problem in this team in moving the ball up the pitch, Cook will only do if we're playing 10 men, we know Field doesn't have the close ball control or ability to turn tight with the ball, And Varane who I like is a reactive player who when we're in possession seems to turn off and not offer an option, This team has serious and fundamental flaws and we need our Captain to step up.
Celar's deepening nightmare leaves QPR well adrift – Report on 18:56 - Nov 24 with 3565 views | ManinBlack | Middlesbrough have scored 15 goals in 3 games. As for us I can't see us scoring 15 goals at home all season. Cardiff up next who have home wins against Millwall, Plymouth and Portsmouth, all teams we couldn't beat, plus a win against Norwich who we never seem to win against. One goal by them should be enough to see us off. [Post edited 24 Nov 19:04]

I think it's the latter. I reckon you've seen this more than a few times: I mean, just since we were last in the Premiership, deep breath, Ramsey, JFH, Schteve, Ollie, Ainsworth and Critchley all had the death spiral narrative we see at the minute. Warbs avoided it (though he went close a couple of times) and Beale was a colossal penarse (nuff said). The vibes feel similar to when things 'were what they were' - circling the drain, too far out from a transfer window, nothing going right. The difference this time is that, I think, Marti stands a chance of getting us out of it, but it's going to take some guts from the people at the top. He needs backing, not sacking and, right now, I think they're eyeing up the trap door so that they look decisive in front of the owners. Fcking up is just about the only thing we're consistently good at.

Two unforced errors cost us the game . I like Jimmy . I’m a paddy . I want to see him do well but he f**ed up there . Big time. Celar missed a penalty . You shouldn’t miss a penalty. End off . More points dropped against poor enough Stoke side.

I've said my piece on this, but whatever the logistics in Clive's writing life, it still feels a bit weirdly unsttling to me to be ostensibly supporting the manager while preparing a piece on his departure - a bit like telling a friend how much you love him while writing his funeral euology! (For a bit of context, I'm enough of a primititive poet to feel that when you use words to conjure anything, it gives them a reality, which is why I worry.) I suspect the emotive support for Marti and the hatred/scapegoating of Nourry is a more dubious dichotomy than some can bear to admit and may actually be a psychological denial of a more equivocal underlying attitude that might be more authentic. Black and white thinking is so much comforting to some than cultivating complexity. At any rate, and as I've pointed out, Marti told the press less than three months ago he was pretty much entirely satisfied with our summer recruitment, so the Nourry /Cifuentes love-hateism needs at least to be somewhat curdled regardless. I gave you the explanation for this last week, and asked you a question in return, and you ignored me. I also can't base the publishing schedule of a three game week around the nonsense superstitions of a "primititive poet".

Nah. Who sanctioned the sale of Dykes, leaving us with two strikers, both relatively unproven at this level? I doubt that was Marti. You could make a case that with Dykes up front recently, we'd have a few more points on the board. Notwithstanding any extra points, if Marti's not making the decision to sell one of his strikers and fail to replace him, then that's hardly giving him a full pack to deal with, is it?

It's a bit like tv companies and newspapers will have obituaries made and written for The King & Queen, Prince William etc in case one of them passes away suddenly. The likelihood is they won't be used for a long time and will need updating every year but you make them to prepare. These things don't get made in 5 minutes they would take a while to do and in Clives case when he has a full time job it makes sense to prepare these things just as I imagine he's already dome the History column for the next 4/5 games already rather than wait until a day before to do them, if the game gets called off he can use it another time. None of this means he wants Marti to be sacked or that tv companies want the King to die, it's just part of their job to do these things

Fair points but Cook committed a howler against Leeds, cost us the game, and it was ignored and not sure received a single mention on this forum, Now it's Dunnes form that's tanking and he's been called out for digging out Smyth, Wheras Cook has been digging out his team mates from Day 1 to likewise cover his own mistakes and barely a mention, Dunne's trying to do too much, most touches of a Rs player in the oppositions box, taking the ball out of defence etc Dunne's playing for the team, Cooks playing for himself, we need more from him, as seen by performance from Morrison on Saturday, back from injury, straight in and stepping up.

Harsh, very harsh on Cook........you can look at the negatives of all of the players, yes Colback included, but I watch Cook and believe that he puts a shift in every match and doesn't play too badly.

Cook playing for himself? What are you talking about. He made a mistake against leeds but it didn't cost us the game, they battered us, a goal was inevitable. Saying Dunne made a mistake for the 1st goal, which he did, is not an assault on his character or anyone saying he is dreadful, he just made a mistake which he knew straight away as he had his head in his hands. Cook could have gone to the ball but the damage was already done

That we are even considering digging Cook out, it symptomatic of the dark place we are all in football wise at the moment. That's understandable given our position and form. I think we are finding it even harder to come to terms with, as we were all so hopeful of a 'decent' (north of 16th) season. At the beginning of last season we knew we were in trouble before a ball was kicked, so we were calmer about it - this season feel more like a kick in the whatsits. But to single out Cook is very harsh imo. He NEVER misses a game (unlike his defensive partner), ALWAYS gives 100%. You talk about the goal V Leeds, I wonder how many goals he has prevented this season - not far behind Nardi I would suggest. He is also Mr Consistent, rarely, if ever, dropping below a 6/10. Of course he could do more, but he is a long way down the list of reasons why we are bottom of the table.
Celar's deepening nightmare leaves QPR well adrift – Report on 10:16 - Nov 25 with 1346 views | TeddRanger | I get that it it's all about opinions but... Park Royal Ranger's slavish devotion to Dykes made my eyes roll. The canonisation of Saint Jimmy Dunne (a player I like) is a bit much. But this obsession with slagging Cook off is just plain weird. Our Captain(perhaps there is a reason for that?) is virtually ever present, defends very well and has scored some crucial goals and yet -he is the one you pick out???

I had to apologise (again) to those sat around me including my Daughter. I really can't see any miracles this season so we do need to start preparing for League one next season. I just hope our owners don't cut their losses and pull the plug and we end up in administration.
