Might have missed an earlier thread but my word, this 16 year old is something else. Just completely schooled Barney. He was banging in treble 19s for fun. Doesn't seem to feel any pressure whatsoever. He 16! 🤯🤯🤯

Maybe he 'identifies' as 16.

But he's actually 30.

I identify as 12 but am actually 56 !!!! 🤣

Girlfrend tends to.agree with this !!!

Littler needs this set for 5 - 3.

Humphries on a charge maybe...

Luke's agent also represented the then 16 year old Sandro when he broke into the Internacional side. The general consensus was that this was in 1967, although some historians believe it might have been as early as 1948.

Brilliant final and a phenomenal performance by Humphries. At 4-2 down to rattle off 5 sets on the bounce against someone averaging 101 is unbelievable. He averaged around 110 for 5 sets. He hit 22 (?) 180s and a 170 checkout and a 43% checkout rate.

It might be statistically the best performance in a world championship final in history.

The media will focus on Littler because he is clearly a freak who will dominate the game for years. However, they shouldn’t underestimate Humphries’ performance there.

There is a joy in watching a match, in any sport, where you know it is being played by both contestants at a level which is close to perfection. We savoured that experience in this final. Well done to both of them, there were no nerves on display tonight, it was brilliant.

Standards have improved since the Bristow , Wilson days. Booze , fags and dolly birds the order of the day.
Never forget Sid widells comments on a particularly great Bristow, Lowe final.
“ If Elvis walked into the building now and ordered a cheese and ham toastie at the bar. Nobody would take any notice” Brilliant.
