Match thread v Charlton on 10:11 - Oct 29 by rod_leach | Who knows why they did it, perhaps if they post on here they could explain? It is not going to help whatever the reason. I've never booed a Dale player and never will. |
Rathbone being subbed was probably right, even though Camps seemed to be injured. Rathbone had been booked and gave away a couple of silly fouls, one in particular on the edge of the box - might have been the free kick from which they had a goal disallowed. I thought Hart excelled, McGahey equally excellent, and the keeper spread himself superbly to keep a clean sheet. Hilly came up with a winning formula in a game that pivoted either way. A welcome climb up the table.

Match thread v Charlton on 09:25 - Oct 29 by D_Alien | Or, that it wasn't Cannon coming on? Oddly enough (given my previous posts) i thought Cannon would've been the better option, although he eventually made an appearance. We needed fresh energy in midfield after Camps and Rathbone had run themselves ragged, but i also agree that some fans seem to be developing an anti-Perkins stance, which is unbelievable |
Not seen / heardany anti Perkins sentiment at games , apart from moaning when he gives the ball away, no worse than for any other player. He came on in a game where we had played well and he just needed to help see the game out. So he kept things simple, and this was effective. When he gets the abuse joe bunney used to get I think we can say there is an anti Perkins stance

The moans seem to be more vociferous than for other players. It's as if they're judging him by a different standard, due to his pedigree (dog's abuse) I can understand the rationale of wanting to see younger players being given more game time, but there's people on Perkins back in the Pearl St at the first opportunity (and that's not a pretty sight)
