French press and TV unanimous about how wonderful England and its supporters were tonight and these last few days, wonderful feeling

The Marseillaise and minute silence moved me to tears.

That was England at its lovely best, the way I love it

Thank you

The while event showed how much England and France can get on. Especially when we unite against a common enemy

West London in finest place on earth shocker. ;-)

In all seriousness it was very moving, fully expected it to be cancelled, well done to the security folks who made it possible. And well done to all involved. Two fingers up to the Brabarians.

Tonight was very important and it was about solidarity between two european cousins. It was about people from two countries standing together against evil. It was very moving. There are no borders for decent people. We stand together.

Never knowingly right.

Watched it in a bar over here and the bloke commentating on TF1 was in tears and Lizarazu looked like he wasn't far behind.

Thought we did it in that beautifully understated way that we do when an occasion calls for dignity and respect. The reception Diarra got coming on was particularly poignant and a nice touch.

Well done us!

It was really well done on Tuesday night.

Unfortunately the Premier League wants to get in on the act by getting the French anthem sung by all supporters before every match this weekend. Which is overkill and naff and purely self-serving we-are-the-best-at-grieving.

Leave it as it is.

Agreed. It was great on Tuesday, principally because we were playing France and it was a fitting mark of respect/gesture of solidarity. They should leave it as a one-off.

I had the pleasure of being at the game and in and around the Stadium the fans behaved impeccably - the best minutes silence I can remember. I'm not a fan of the FA but on this occasion they got it exactly right.

I met a few friends pre-match at Baker Street where sadly the Stone Island legends at the pub opposite still thought it appropriate to sing , no surrender.

Poll: Remy - can he play in the playoffs - who's opening post is the best?
