Steve Gallen’s young charges have been handed home advantage in the final following their 1-0 semi-final triumph against Leeds United last Saturday.
An injury time strike from Peter Skapetis, his 22nd goal in 25 appearances this season, handed the R’s victory.

For them it was Holmes and Carrol, the LB. First half, both Petrasso and Young were excellent for us. Both faded second half. Quite impressed by Monthe (despite our Editor's comments about him in a pre-season game). Big, strong and quick. But Paul Furlong's lad, Darnell, the right back was even better. I believe he has at least 1 more year at that level. I thought Mitchell, in central midfield was anonymous for 70 minutes but made some crucial interventions in the last 20. | |

I can't help feeling one of the reasons was that we had a pen shout a little earlier, and the ref didn't give that, so he sort of added the two together.
I thought we were the better side first half. There was a big lull in the second half, and then we tried to see the game out, and managed to do it. |  |

Just back. Nice to see them win, they deserved it overall. Really liked the 4 in midfield for us, Laurent I think, very calm and intelligent with the ball. The 8 for them was a good player as well, and well done to Huddersfield for keeping him on and developing his skill and technique while his body matures rather than the old English way of "too small, see you later".
FA have got to have a look at the format though. The last 25 minutes was just a cramp fest, can't be doing lads that age any good. Well done to the R's for battling through it and coming through the other side. |  | | |
