Cifuentes Leaving the Club 08:20 - Dec 16 with 3458 views | numptydumpty | Marti's stock has been dented a little with the start to the season, we have had, but with both Wolves and Southampton recently sacking their managers, would a relegation threatened club take a punt on Marti. To be fair, I think a lot of reading between the lines, is included in a great deal of managerial appointments. I think someone with the profile of a Cifuentes type manager, would be a better bet than a Rooney, Lampard, Gerrard profile. You can only work with the tools you have at your disposal and Cifuentes has done well considering. Appreciate it's almost certainly not going to happen, but there have definitely been much worse appointments in the premier league in recent years.

Cifuentes Leaving the Club on 08:37 - Dec 16 with 2684 views | gazza1 | Most of us, with any footballing sense, know what a very good job he has, thus far, done at the Club but do the general football fan, Chairmen from other Clubs, non supporting QPR person realise just how well he has done here - I am not so sure they do. It doesn't actually read well or 'hit you in the face' - Look where we are in the Championship, near the bottom, at the bottom not so many days ago. If we were pushing for promotion it may be very different. Who knows though, just my opinion.

Cifuentes Leaving the Club on 08:49 - Dec 16 with 2545 views | slmrstid | The only way Championship managers get jobs in the Premier League these days seems to be by getting promoted there. They'll both appoint someone from either the continent, or someone who has already worked in the top flight and is out of work. When was the last time a second tier manager left a job to go the top flight? Beale had a go, but did he really turn Wolves down or did they decide against him and he used it to try and get some self-promo PR, given what we've learned about him since?
Cifuentes Leaving the Club on 08:55 - Dec 16 with 2486 views | loftus77 | I'm just about confident that vastly-monied football ownerships never bother to look beyond their noses. Because if they had any footballing nous they would (and should) go for Marti/Zavi in a heartbeat. IMHO. Let's just keep it quiet and hope Danny Rohl and Mark Robins remain (wrongly imho) ahead in the pecking order. [Post edited 16 Dec 10:00]

Cifuentes Leaving the Club on 09:32 - Dec 16 with 2127 views | johnhoop | Makes you wonder what tomorrow’s thread title is going to be; “Owners leave and QPR go into administration” perhaps? Or it could inspire a whole new topic of “thread titles you’d least like to wake up to in the morning.”

Well one tried to get Beale but his huge loyalty to us denied them 😃

Worked under Hassenhutl at Saints too if I’m not mistaken. But as said above, and in many Lotforwords pieces over the last few years, you don’t go from SW/QPR mid/lower table to the prem. The biggest threat to us, SW, B’burn etc in managerial terms is a parachute payment club plus probably Sunderland getting rid/ losing their manager and taking them. Rohl definitely the vogue option at the moment
