The Blues want to relocate to Wembley for three years and a £20m-a-year deal has reportedly been agreed. But they have also held talks with the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) about a temporary move to the Olympic Stadium, which will become West Ham's home from next season. It would mean West Ham receiving a significant discount on their £2.5m-a-year rent for the 60,000-seater stadium.

Chelsea are also understood to be considering a switch to Twickenham

Mmmm...I can (proudly) confirm that i was an early adopter (or in today's language Generation X trailblazer or something) of the dyne (of duvet to the philistines) in the UK. This is because my mother (mor to the philistines) is Dansk (Danish to the philistines).

Today it irriatates me that Mrs Crowe gets irratated when i refer to it as a dyne and says it's a duvet. It's not, says I, that's the proper Danish word for it. But we're not in Denmark, she'll retort. Ah but we're not in France but you still say restaurant or cafe, I counter, going in the for kill. I want a divorce, she says.

I first encountered one at a friend's house for a sleepover aged 10 in 1974. It was a proper feather avalanche, rather than the meagre cylinder-lagging you get now days. He had one because his mother was German. So I don't care what the rest of the world calls one, to any true Briton, it will always be a CONTINENTAL quilt.

Well, lucky you didn't have to wait two weeks. Mine failed its ITV on several points, but was allowed to 'fix later' and then it failed the following year on the same points. No bribe money changed hands in this transaction.

Got any tips on growing rubber plants?

Not sure about rubber plants, but I have seen a wild banana plant in the 5 Continents Park in Cadiz.

My first duvet was a Star Wars one my Mum bought down Wembley market, no idea why as I'd never expressed any interest in Star Wars.

Had the duvet for at least 10 years and to this day still haven't watched Star Wars.

My Mum says that people who say "Baguette" have delusions of grandeur. French stick all day long until I became a class traitor and turned into a great big ponce. I still call our Living room "The Front room", though, even though it's in the middle of our flat and we don't have a "Back room", so I'm not totally detached from my humble roots.

I think I say serviette. Or more likely, "Kitchen roll".

My Mum used to treat herself to an iced bun from Dunn’s on a Friday, when she worked at the Town Hall (Hornsey). Good times. I like the idea of Dunn’s more than I like the actual products. Bit like pie and mash.

My cousin and house mate ( and all round guvnor of the house) has swapped from sainsburys home delivery to wait for it...morrisons, first delivery tonight (apparently we get a gingerbread man biscuit as a welcome present)... Can't wait to see the neighbours net curtains twitching when said van pulls up outside...only yesterday they had a harrods van delivery...it's good to be different.

I have found that a major problem with home deliveries is that the produce is always about to expire. One is then forced to consume a week's groceries in four and a half hours. This, and the fact that one is too lazy to leave the house to even do shopping, turns one into a right fat bastid.

Dunns used to do a very good wholemeal loaf I seem to remember, sliced or unsliced. The awfully trendy used to drink in a bar around the corner run by Andy Kershaws then girlfriend, no idea if it is still there. When we wanted to look working class authentic we drank in the Top House, Hornsey High St, full of effing Arsenal, hated it. And no-one mentioned food shopping at Marks and Sparks in Muswell Hill.
Seem to remember Sean Hughes the comedian complaining about the IRA shutting down the Post Office in Crouch End due to suspect packages, Hughes complaint was if you have to bomb Crouch End at least start with Budgens and how right he was. As supermarkets go it was the pits.
Anyway, Ravens Bakery in Brighton is a proper old sawdust floored father and son outfit that do the best floured Danish money can buy, and on Hot Cross Bun day the queue goes at least half a mile down the hill. If you haven't pre-ordered and pre-paid you've got no chance, and the only local options are co-op....which is no option at all.

I can see this thread running into June and July, a bit like the Brizzle City +POP+ thread of olde MB dayes.

It depends if he paid for them (bought) or just had them with him when he arrived (brought). Either way, custard and doughnuts (correct spelling) don't really mix. Jam is borderline as well. A doughnut should have just one thing in the middle.

Unless they are small ones, usually a dozen, served off Brighton Pier in a white paper bag with a liberal portion of icing sugar in the bottom of the bag. Somewhere, I have a photo of my son, about 10, eating said doughnuts with a line of Riot Police guarding RBS Bank in Brighton during the riots. The Riot Police were not impressed when they realised the saronic use and deployment of doughnuts in the photo was non-complimentary to them. I retorted along the lines of 'fark orf, you cant nick a boy for eating doughnuts you weapon.'

Times change — the Top House is now the Great Northern Tavern — nice restoration job, but something still not quite right about it. Budgens in CE used to be appalling — I remember Ian Hart (Scouse actor, not the Leeds’ player) banging on about how cack it was in an interview — but it’s been mega-poncey for a fair few years now. With that, Waitrose and M&S Food hall, all within a 3 minute walk, you really need never leave CE for all your upmarket nibbles. Sean Hughes used to be quite often found in the Kings — I’ve drank in that pub many, many times with the intention of watching the comedy, but somehow never made it downstairs before it was sold out.

Brian, my wife looks through the dates after each delivery and if anything has a pis stake date, she gives them a call and they refund it. Except for booze, which obviously has to be drunk within 48 hours of delivery. We got two chickens that were £13 a pop, delivered on a Thursday with a best before date the following day, so slammed them in the freezer, had a moan and got £26 back. Good times. Go for it.

We flip between Ocado, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose and with Ocado, they give you a 68 page print-out detailing when you need to consume everything by, to the nearest five minutes. It’s useful, but stresses me out just looking at it. I then get stressed about getting the bags back to the delivery fella, remembering the tip etc, but it’s a lot less hassle/depressing than grocery shopping out there in the real world (especially when you don’t own a car).
