I can't imagine a division that Ferdinand's good enough. As for Ale, he wouldn't be the first footballer who has had to effectively restart his career after a broken leg - he'll be okay in the end. |
It wasn't a broken leg, it was an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury, which is far more serious than a break. It shouldn't be career threatening but it could mean he never reaches the level he was at before the injury. | |

In any case its not Faurlin's fault that footballers get paid a lot. He's never, to my knowledge, touted himself about to try to bump up his wages, put in transfer request, refused to sign a contract extension or similar. If he's a top footballer then naturally he wants to play and is going to get down if he's injured or dropped or in a bad run of form. The fact that any player of his ability is going to be on money beyond my dreams is irrelevant - unless of course he really is a mercenary who has no pride in his performance or team spirit. Why is there this belief that Ale is such a big earner and why do I never hear about other players' wages? Players that have never given us good/great performances in exchange?
Do you expect a player to be happy if he doesn't play at his club, gets sent to another and finds a situation as difficult as the one he was living before making the move?

Gazza was still a good player after his injury but IMO but never was at the level he was prior to his injury. Crucially he lost about a yard of pace. |  |
