I'm quite looking forward to watching mini European tournaments at Loftus every international break

The Premier League already monopolised this

Marti and Xavi Calm sign contract extensions
[Post edited 30 Sep 20:29]

Nourry is right Marti's performance last season was exceptional and he deserves to be given more time. It's only September!

“This process is going to take time, it will not be linear progress, and we have to slowly build on top of the principles that were successful last season while also matching some new faces to the club."

Being frank, the roundup is that Nourry managed to say absolutely nothing at all and punctuated it with some announcements

Probably been said elsewhere but the announcement of Marti and Xavi extending their contracts proves that a) Nourry is a dictator/control freak and b) Marti and Nourry are clearly not aligned/at loggerheads etc.

As proven by some on here who know stuff but couldn’t possibly say how they know it or indeed, what it is.

Laughable

Have to say in a functioning team the announcement that Marti had signed a new contract would normally be followed by the man himself with a few words to a captive audience

Seems a bit weird

both can still be true, how much of a say Marti had on the players brought in is not really clear

Maybe it's me, but i kind of prefer this kind of fans forum where Dembele, JCS, Marti and team announce contract extensions and belief in the plan, rather than catering menu and tannoy quality.

I don’t like being media managed personally. The signings and contract extensions could have been announced as soon as they were done.

Good announcements nonetheless though. I wonder if our drop in form from the end of last season has damaged Marti’s market value and the club has struck at the right time.

Yeah but it’s not the same if someone isn’t complaining about water pressure in the bogs or having a cry about something unimportant…

Seriously - if this misalignment rubbish were true, why on earth would they sign a new contract?
Generally, if you’re not happy in a work situation, and your skills are very transferable and in demand, you tend not to double down with your current employer.

Some seemingly always have to look for an angle. Next we’ll be hearing the earth is flat.

Odd he would sign a new contract then if he has so little control over such important matters…..

I find Nourry pretty impressive and rather irritating in equal measure. He appears to be clear in what he wants to do and has innovative ideas. But some of those ideas such as not publishing players' contract details are annoying.

I think he does have tendencies towards control freakery and I'd expect that to get him into difficulties at times. But I'm happy to take the rough with the smooth for now.

Huge fcking compo package? Not saying this is the reason or that I have any insight but that’s a pretty good and well used reason why managers stay at clubs they shouldn’t.

I never said he has little control I said it was unclear who was signing the players, would have been interesting to hear from him

Except he’s a European coach where that’s a bit more the norm.
Accountability is of course crucial. But if a team is not doing well, whether a coach signed them or not will not save him.

Bare bones.

You are quite new here: he’s not going to get a huge compensation package from QPR if he’s sacked.
He seems to be his own man and has upped sticks a few times in his managerial career so perhaps the reason he’s signed a new contract is he’s enjoying his job?

Because you have been offered a bumper pay rise. Sanctioned by the board. So, obviously, you take it.

Gotta say, and some people will take a completely opposite view but thoroughly impressed with the professionalism and Nourry from that. Maybe it helped I started watching 60 minutes in then watched the first 60 afterwards. But he certainly seems to be over the detail, clearly has a plan and treated everyone with respect (rather than his predecessors disdain). I think a number of the ideas are quite decent (I might look to book my teams next away day there). And great announcements, also confirming there will be more of these including ones with more of the footballing staff.

That's all well and good but I don't believe that there was a groundswell of fans wanting rid of the MC.

Patience may be the watchword, but we need a couple of wins in our next four games, three of which are at home. Before we face some of the stronger/strongest teams in this league, starting with Burnley at the end of this month.

The run of games in November, on current level of performance, look very daunting. None of the next four games will be easy either, but all of the sides are currently just below or a few points ahead of us. I wouldn't underestimate Pompey, who must have had the hardest run of games to date.

Chair cannot be expected to turn this around on his own. I'm amazed at the rather limited criticism directed at Andersen, who in Chair's absence, should have been the one to take on the mantle as our indispensable creative player. Instead, we're pinning our hopes on Dembele, a player who has only played 6 games at this level. That's very unfair.

I'll be honest I find him boring , I find his presentation technique hard warm to. But good news on the contract extensions etc.

Yeah, and of course, this misalignment would all be completely invisible to the board, hence they would offer such a bumper pay rise even though the relationship between the CEO and manager is a bit Donald ducked.

Or perhaps they wouldn’t.

If it’s so obvious to you that Noirtu is a control freak and Marti is pee’d off then, no disrespect, but I reckon the board may possibly clock that as el

He certainly speaks well, I did find some of his answers to be saying a lot without actually telling us anything and I found what he said about the contracts to be ridiculous but overall hes done a decent job so far

I thought the plan to open the stadium up to hire for remote working was a good one, I hope that takes off

Strange viewing .

Keeping us happy with announcements is good PR indeed heading into tomorrow .
Didn’t understand his explanation at all regarding agents and contract lengths. Banged on about selling for the most money and players wages and agents wanting the best deals …stuff anyone with the most basic of knowledge would know…but yet ..the buying club will still just go the agent to find out the length of contract .
I thought , and I might be wrong , the comments about Kolli were as much to do with his attitude as well as signing a new deal. Which could be linked of course.

Just read someone say that they find Nourry impressive and annoying in equal measure and that’s a fair assessment.
He does seem more open to ideas and opinions than Hoos was which isn’t hard , but I like that about him at least
