So no proof then. Just wild speculation. Thought as much.

Well, we know that your attendances are exaggerated,

and I am fairly sure that I could run 100 metres quicker a decade ago, but I can't prove that either; but I know it's a fact.

Your club have been in a higher division for more seasons, been a better run club, had more England Internationals, been less corrupt, been cheating the attendance figures etc

But over a hundred years, there is very little between the two teams, despite the fact the Pompey owners have undoubtedly been taking money from the club for years.

It sounds like your club has more glory hunters than ours.

Rather than just accept the facts for what they are, you're constantly coming out with excuses as to why our attendances have been better than yours!

Better run club
More seasons in top flight
More england internationals
Owners taking money
Less corrupt
Owner prefers basketball
Bigger willies
Don't sh*g our sister's

Blah blah blah blah!

Poll: Season ticket sales looking good. How many will we sell?

Still doesn't explain why your fans abandoned their team in their best season in decades.

Or are you saying that the most passionate and loyal fans in the world turned their back on their team, when they were in their best season for decades because the city had a successful basketball team for a short time?

What we do know is that out fans attendances always rose when we dropped down to the bottom league, and your fans dropped 13,000 when they dropped down a division.

Also we know that when our club reached it's darkest hour the fans clumped together and bought it, spending millions in the process. What we do know is that when your club tried to organise one game to raise money for the club in the 'save the saints' game, a lot of fans stated all over social media that some of the stars that wanted to play "just weren't good enough" to go and pay money to watch the. This point isnt about us its about us it's about you it's not even about being in lower leagues, this was when you were in the old first division.

Just to be clear, you have put your low attendances in 87/88, your first season in top flight for decades down to Portsmouth having a successful basketball team for a short time.

That is what you said isn't it.

Well if I could understand your first paragraph, I might respond to it. The decline from the fans started well before we reached the top flight, most fans were disillusioned with the owner not bothering to sort the stadium out, and for communication reasons, and the basketball team was the final nail in the coffin for many, and the attendances then plummeted.

I can prove that we had the best basketball team in the country though, and that the owner owned both clubs, and that we sold good players and bought a scummer (Baird)

What I can't prove is why SFC's attendances dropped 13k after dropping out of the PL

Why have Pompey had so many more attendances over 30,000?
1953 is the last time the blue few had an average league attendance over 30k!

Why did only 1,800 Soton fans turn up for the Port Vale game?
Surely this isn't the game from 1936!

Why didn't fans bother to turn up for the 'Save the Saints game?
Our club was saved and is still the original club, how about yours!

Why did 13,000 Soton fans not bother your team dropped out of the top division?
The same reason over 14k of the blue few did the same when dropped from the top division!

Why do Pompey have national attendance records for the FA cup and the League Trophy finals?
Because your glory hunters who turn up for the cameras, then go back into hibernation when normal service resumes!

How many Carlisle fans in the middle and top sections?

Not really sure what relevance that reply is to having 3 of your facts proved wrong, but guess you can edit those now

In answer to the Carlisle question, not many.
Top tier, about as many as you took to Wigan (one man and his dog) 60
Middle tier, over generous 2000 estimate
Add that to your over generous 15,290 Lower tier = 17,350 Total.

Lets be super over generous and say 20,000 (and I've got a rocking horse that sh1ts)
Still leaves 53,000.

How many neutrals would want to attend a Paint Pot Final ffs?

Having the best basketball team in the county and an owner who was interested in basketball doesn't explain why your attendances were so low during one of your best periods ever. Unless Pompey fans were all going to watch basketball of course, which being the best fans in the world surely cant be the case can it?
