The new competition is noted but this guy is something else. For a big bloke, his skill, pace and strength going forward is immense and his aerial presence in both boxed is irreplaceable |
| Forum Thread | Our physio/medical team at 07:06 4 Apr 2024
Apologies if mentioned on here before, but we should give huge credit to them (clearly backed by a manager whoās listened to their advice in terms of resting players) for keeping virtually our whole squad fit, at a time of year when almost all teams in whatever division are crippled by injuries. This has been massive in our push for survival |
| Forum Thread | We lost one of our longest standing true supporters on Tuesday at 18:12 28 Mar 2024
Tommy Wareham, my dad (formerly of Heston and latterly of Wraysbury and Old Windsor), died, aged 91 years old. He told me that he first went to see the R's before WW2, with his own father, who was a passionate fan too (he died in the early 50's). Dad used to regale us with stories of his early games, White City, early Loftus Road and had had a season ticket, along with my mum, who survives him, since the early 60's. Iāve been going as a season ticket holder since 1966 and my own son, Tom, who is now 32, has had a season since he was 5. Even now, Dad still has a season ticket as does mum. Before he had children, dad was the only QPR supporter in the family. He brought up 3 children to support them and we now have about 20 R's supporters in the wider family. I think it's fair to say that he did his bit for the club. He loved the R's lived for them, and for his family. And just a short note for Chris - Chris, you'll remember "rescuingā my mum and dad when we were making the long detour from Ellerslie after a Millwall evening game and when they were separated amongst the threatening hordes and frankly petrified, and I will never forget that act of kindness. |
| Forum Thread | Hayfever in mid Feb! at 21:44 15 Feb 2024
Bit random I knowā¦Iāve suffered with hayfever for decades, the last half of which has been due to tree pollen which comes earlier than the more common grass pollen. And the last few days Iāve been terrible with it, early to mid-February ffs! Nature has gone mad! |
| Forum Thread | Dykes in midfield? at 18:09 30 Dec 2023
How about this? We put Dykes in midfield , thought he did well when moved there last night. Where he can use his massive energy bank, is right footed, can offer much more going forward than the others, and itās hardly a loss to lose him out of the forward line. And as our striking options are so limited, a flexible 4-6-0? |
| Forum Thread | Thereās a reason why we play to the Loft in the second halfā¦ at 20:45 9 May 2023
Itās because, back in the day, home fans, right āon top of the pitchā, almost sucked the ball in. Until recent years, we had a formidable home record. I sit low down towards the middle of the pitch in the Stan Bowles stand (btw, he was never, ever, known as āStanleyā, always just Stan, it was Rodney Marsh who we used to sing āRodneeeeā for). So it maybe that I donāt hear what the other three sides of the ground hear. You boys at both ends of Ellerslie do a great job of trying to stoke up atmosphere (the atmosphere that everyone speaks of at the Bush), but all I can hear at virtually every game is a racaus away crowd, even if theyāve half-filled the School End. As I say, apologies if our fans are heard loud and clear elsewhere, but every bloody home game seems to turn into an away game. There is no other team in the football pyramid that gives a whole end to the away team (accepted that itās down to access issues that we have to do that) and not have our own āendā. Iāve got loads of time for Lee Hoos but his decision to give up that for a āfamilyā area is completely reckless. Giving young fans nice seats does not, in the longer term, make them paying fans. Giving them a winning team to watch (from whatever part of the stadium) is far more likely to do that. And look at the teams joining the Championship from both ends next season, all 6, however made up, will fill up the School End. And those 3k fans will again make a frightening noise. Sorry to raise an old subject, but itās bleeding obvious to me. Move our noisy fans to the Loft and say āsorry but youāve got to moveā to the family people. I realise that will make some displaced people unhappy, but theyāll be even unhappier if, as seems likely, we lose so many home games next season. At least that will give us a chance of competing on a level playing field. |

| Forum Thread | Non qpr (thank god!) - help with Ibiza trip at 14:24 19 Mar 2023
Hi guys, planning a late getaway to Ibiza from next weekend for a few days. Appreciate itās out of season. Does anyone know if any beach clubs/bars are open this time of year? And We are (ahem) āmatureā so not looking for the teens/20ās life. Was thinking Playa dāem Bossa or Talamanca. And, if one of them, which part of those towns? Sorry and thanks. |
| Forum Thread | Above all, that team was coached to the inch - 100% credit to Gareth at 08:26 12 Mar 2023
It all started with his interviews saying how talented the available players were. We didnāt believe that. But thatās his motivational skills. Then he watches games and sees what he could do, changing the formation. Then he gets to work and whilst building the players up, he coaches and coaches and coaches them. And we get a performance where every man knew his job, above all getting up the arse of his opponent. So anyone doubting Gareth and thinking heās a one-trick pony will likely have to reevaluate. I know itās one game so perhaps early too rush to judgement, but that performance was so light years away from what weād witnessed for 4-5 months, that there is huge hope. |
| Forum Thread | This QPR - Shades of two previous successful teams at 22:39 10 Oct 2022
These are great times. Really good. Iām embarrassed and sorry that I had a go about substitutions earlier in the season. Mick has proved that he knows what heās doing and is building something potentially special here. I reckon there are two traits displayed by rās successful teams of the past: 1. The team spirit is evidently so strong, last seen on Warmockās title-winning side. Itās palpable. 2. Iāve not seen such an organised team since Gerry Francisā team of the early 90ās. Doesnāt seem to matter who comes in, he knows his role and the team moves around the pitch as one. Same as Gerryās Exciting times and great to see the whole club come together |
| Forum Thread | Really donāt want to dig the manager out but at 17:06 20 Aug 2022
WTF were those substitutions? Absolute Fāing bollocks. Johansen goes down injured, great, we can not have two defensive modās any more and bring Sinclair on. No, rosellas. Willock blowing out of his arse and clearly going to come off but no, weāll bring in Sinclair but Fāing weāll take Dykes off who couldāve given cover to him.l amd him completely exposed with no one around him to pick up the pieces he will inevitably create. And Richards off who was really influential in the second half. Absolute bollocks. Fuming is not the word |
| Forum Thread | Passing forward at 06:28 16 Apr 2022
At last! The āI donāt want any responsibility so Iāll take an easy option and turn around and pass it backā disappeared yesterday. We passed forward. Time and again! How refreshing, Chair was back to his best, probably because he got the ball quickly and not under pressure. And I think Thomas helps as heās making runs and pulling defenders away. We donāt have to lump it, but actually (not every time) just turn and see how a move can be progressed up the field and quickly, rather than the laboured, predictable and utterly pointless stuff the players had been addicted to. On, and by the way, please keep Warbs on! |
| Forum Thread | Albert NOT offside at 20:14 19 Feb 2022
Picture on Twitter proves it. Didnāt look it at the time. And The Hull player was miles offside at 1 each when he should have scored Got f all from officials all day. Sickening |
| Forum Thread | please let's not turn on players and manager at 08:30 16 Feb 2022
we've had a great run and are now suffering a dip in form. The manager has worked miracles with the budget. Lots of players are off form. It happens. We have to hope that the team recovers confidence and form. But please let's not turn on them as that will not help. We need a massive show of support on Saturday. I don't see anyone not trying. Remember where we've been as a club, we have the Rangers back that we've all craved for. There will be highs and lows along the way and we have the best at the helm, both managerial staff and boardroom. |
