I think Gomis is decent in the air but I wouldn't say he is as dominant as Bony. He will have a big role to play defensively so I hope he can live up to it. Sounds like he needs to get his head right and focus on the Swans though first rather than talking about moving. |  | | |

Gomis will have the same easy job as Bony at defending set pieces but will be even better at them because he's a lot taller.
Bony didn't just get lucky every time he headed one away from a corner. When you're the free extra man when our defenders are doing the tough jobs it is a lot easier hence why Bony always looked so good there.

It is an easier job but when you compare that to other clubs, who give their striker a similar role when defending set pieces, he's got around 50% more clearances than other strikers in the league. So even though he is doing the same job as others, he's clearly bossing headers and excelling in this role.
If you put a cross in the box and it was Gomis and Bony both going for it, I'd fancy Bony every day of the week to win the header. Big responsibility on Gomis to fill his shoes. | | | |

It's all about opinions but I disagree. I know Bony is dominant in the air butI can see him now winning those corner headers from us and they're all free headers. Corners that have missed their targets. Gomis will smash those ones away easy, even Teabag Prosser would get one or two of them. | |

Where we will miss Bony the most is the intangible things he did that were less apparent. Two of the best examples I can think of are both our goals against Man U. First one, he very cleverly provides a screen to open things up for Ki. The second, it was his quick thinking on the free kick that led to the goal.
I haven't seen that kind of intelligence in Gomis' game thusfar, so that's what I'm a bit concerned about. |  |

Wilf has gone and it would be unfair and unrealistic to compare his replacement, Gomis or someone else, with him as they will have different attributes.
