Given that Stoke would love to see Mark Hughes / Southampton fail then they will be up for shipping a few goals on Sunday. Likewise Man City / Pep are desperate to get the 100 points for a season record, which a win at Southampton would provide. It all adds up to a goal fest experience at the Liberty and the Swans staying in the PL ;) |
| Forum Thread | 6 Game Mini Season ! at 11:29 9 Apr 2017
Ok, I was as pi@@ed off as most people on here following yesterday's game. I went to both the Spurs and the WHU games and came away feeling quite depressed about our chances of PL survival, although for very different reasons. But having had a good night's kip, I feel a bit more positive and think that we need to treat the next 6 games as a mini season and look to concentrate on putting in good performances and hoping that our luck improves. As per the Liverpool, Man City and Spurs games we are capable of putting in some decent performances and must ensure that we do this in all the remaining fixtures. We didn't play well yesterday and probably not surprising after the Spurs game that the team was low on physical and mental energy. We now have a week to recover and the Undertaker needs to earn his corn and get the motivation, team formation and tactics sorted out for the remaining games. Starting with Watford (even BB's team managed to keep them scoreless) and are a pretty crap team really, we need to get an essential win. Hull are away to Stoke next and hopefully will get nothing more than a draw. This would then put us in a head to head race with Hull to beat the drop (and possible Palace given their very difficult run of fixtures) for the remaining 5 games. Anyway, let's get behind the team; scrape a win at Watford and hopefully we can get back to the early day's of PC's tenure and win more than we lose of the last 6 games ! |
| Forum Thread | So what do we think this weekend then ? at 14:23 7 Jan 2014
Following on from the historic victory in the FA Cup on Sunday, can the Swans repeat this feat on Saturday ? I really believe we can continue with the good form we have shown in the past couple of matches and take the game to Man U again. With good play, a bit of luck and assuming that RVP will be missing we have every chance. Wasn't able to make the game on Sunday but will be there this weekend to shout from the stand ! Will be hoping that Sunderland have a good result against them tonight and continue to affect the confidence of Moyes and his boys. |
| Forum Thread | Man Utd are there for the taking ? at 10:22 29 Dec 2013
Having just watched the highlights of the game against Norwich yesterday, they were no big shakes. A flukey goal for Welbeck saw them home, but Norwich should have been 3 up by then. We need to play our usual possession game and can dominate midfield. If only we can get some precision in front of goal we can get a result in one or both of the 2 games against them. Hopefully, a decent performance and result against Man City on new year's day and we'll be well set for these 2 games ! |

A must win game primarily because a) we need a win (to get up the table above Carediff), b) we haven't won at home in the PL this season and c) it's just so bloody good ! What do we think ? |

Are they really that good ? I was getting a bit worried about our chances on Sunday and then took a look at their PL results this season:- WBA (A) 0-1 (W) Sunderland (H) 1-1 (D) Norwich (A) 1-0 (L) West Ham (H) 0-0 (D) Liverpool (A) 0-1 (W) C Palace (H) 2-0 (W) Apart from Liverpool they haven't played any serious opposition and haven't done anything spectacular against them. I hope we are going there to take them on up front, which seems to be their weakest area as well. This is 3 points we can certainly take ! |
| Forum Thread | Arsenal at 13:17 23 Sep 2013
I think if we can beat the gunners on Saturday then we can be seen as serious contenders for a top 6 finish. It seems that the more regularly we play games then the better our passing game becomes within the whole squad; probably due to less time on the training ground and more time actually playing under pressure. Let's hope we can sustain the level of play we have seen over the past week, get a win at Brum on Wednesday night, and go back to the Liberty to prepare for Arsenal. This is turning into a really interesting season for us ;) |

Southampton and West Ham to get a draw today and we could jump to 10th place with any sort of win against Liverpool. That would be a very nice position to be in come 10pm tomorrow night. We could then look forward confidently to the next batch of games (4 in 9 days !). This is going to be one hell of a season for the Swans ;) |
| Forum Thread | A positive for Sunday at 06:25 30 Aug 2013
Lawro thinks we're gonna lose 2-0 ;) http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/23878289 I do think that this game is important and we need to get a decent result (draw at least). Hopefully ML will pick a team to take the game to the Baggies (similar to the home game last season) and we get any luck going. With Liverpool and Arsenal to come in the 3 games following this one then essential that we get some points on the board ! |
