Yeah the "I'd" bit was meant to indicate that. Interesting seeing you gallantly sticking up for our owners and being called a sycophant by T2C and know knowing you'd drop them in a heartbeat for an exotic rich man.

And which of those 4 clubs are closest to us in size and therefore the most pertinent example to us? Also, Liverpool fans will also have plenty to say about the Gillett and Hicks ownership. On topic, this is hilarious. Apparently Cardiff's goal was a great shot and it's a shame it's gone down as an own goal. It hit two defenders and ended up the other side of the goal. Bothroyd falling over himself to praise us at half-time. Bit different to his comments a few years ago.

No it's not, they had the re- brand last season to and they had 26000 every home game. The re- brand now is just an excuse, let's see how many turn up next time if they draw Chelsea.

I concur. What a sh*t-out by the Colchester defender for the second goal by the way. Stick your head in there and win a free kick. Surprised Ratcliffe was bright/honest enough to point that out himself.

Something like " why would I want to join them if I want to play in the premier league" wasn't it? Not the brightest firework in the box.

Own up, who's watching the big game at legoland tonight.... on 20:29 - Jan 2 by VetchitBack | Liverpool, yeah what did they ever do before? And i'd rather us in the Welsh league than have some Arab or Russian with their mits all over us. Some things are more important than money and success. |
Whether we like it or not we're now a money orientated football club.It goes hand in hand with success and the Premier League whether we like it or not. We're now susceptible to billionaire foreigners fancying a slice of our pie and also susceptible to it actually happening and soon.As long as they didn't change our name, team colours and identity then it's still the club we know and love but a club like any other successful Premier League or European club nowadays and owned by filthy rich businessmen. You're watching this shower of shit on BBC2 and worrying the same might happen to us or still mindful of what happened the last time we were run by outsiders.Understandably too. We're on another planet nowadays though and ironically the best thing to ever happen to SCFC was Tony Petty and without him we'd never have been exhumed, rescued, re-invented and now, incredibly, one of the better sides in club football.Even Jay Bothroyd just said we're only second to Arsenal as the best footalling side in the country (it must have killed him saying that).Back to my point anyway, we're still run by the same people who've brought us all this success and they've SCFC in their blood and always will, so If we were to ever be owned or part-owned by a foreign business person or consortium, I'm confident it would be the right person(s) and for the good and continued growth and success of Swansea City. Our board may make a few quid for themselves along the way but rest assured and ultimately it'll be to make us bigger and better and who doesn't want that? Everything Huw and the board seem to do turns to gold. The renewal of Bony's contract with no release clause being the latest. I can only speak for myself and you're opinion is a valid one and shared by many and mine until recently but we only live once so lets forget what's happened in the past, always be mindful of it of course but the way our club is looked after and run by 110% Jacks, if we were taken over, whatever happens it'll be by the right people and for the good of our club. I used to think being self sufficient was best for us because it's worked and got us to where we are today and to be honest why change what's not broken and finishing mid table year in year out is and always will be fantastic for us.The thing is though and with the right investers chosen by our current board we could take things to another level again, expand the stadium, something I don't think we'll do with the way things are now and then become a club that regularly qualifies for Europe and a club top top players want to play for (we really could be) and not be used as a stepping stone by top players and managers, which is what we are at the moment, if we're being honest. If the worst did happen and it went tits up and we fell down the leagues it won't be because the board got greedy and sold us up the river. They're fans like you and me and 2 or 3 years ago would have said the same as you have in your post but when you've achieved the success they have with the club then you must think you can walk on water and won't want to stop there and stand still so the next step is inevitably investment and choosing the best possible one out there. And you wouldn't bet against our board getting it right yet again, would you?
