Although people criticise his tactics in conversations, I didn't hear one angry word shouted at Martin at the end of the game, but I don't sit near him. Does anybody in the Itchen ever have a go at him about the stupid passing around at the back?
The crowd, especially the Northam, made a real effort tonight to support the team in spite of us conceding a goal so early and, considering the dire circumstances, I thought our support was good.
Walker-Peters and Manning played their hearts out, but the team is a disorganised shambles. We badly need a proper manager to organise them and stop this stupid passing around at the back, but it's too late to keep us up now. We missed the last realistic opportunity of staying up, when we failed to sack Martin and get Ruud van Nistelrooy the minute he became available.
But, now that we've left it too late. I'm not sure that another manager should take the rap for our relegation this season. The real concern now would be if Martin were still here next season. [Post edited 5 Dec 1:36]
