They’re tweeting that their “matchday operations” are being restricted for the home game against Barrow on Sunday for reasons that they don’t want to divulge at the moment. The bottom line is that the crowd capacity is limited to 920 and there will be no cash admissions on the day. Wonder what that’s all about?

Is there any chance you lot can take your Hornets shit to another forum?
Very few on here like rugger or Hornets.
If you are not interested..why read the posts..450 so far ( so one or two are interested ) up to now, after all Hornets are in the title, so you haven't logged in not knowing the subject, under discussion?

Brilliant….has your wife or her family thought of contacting the press or local TV about it. It would provide a very interesting story at this time.
Out of interest what was his name? And any chance you could post a photo of the medal on here?
He was John Heaton known as Jack, I believe he also coached a Hornets team of sorts for friendlies during WW2. The medal is currently in the safe keeping of my wifes Aunt, his daughter, but is rarely seen for obvious reasons as she is now in her 90's.

I expect you will be thinking about him with great pride tomorrow.

Jack heaton signed for Hornets in 1914 for fifteen quid from Pemberton Rovers as stand off. Guest player for Wigan during WW1
Moved to scrum half later in his career
“Well known for his courage and unbroken spirit on the field. Unlucky not to tour Australia”
I make his total stats to be 339 appearance 67 tries 12 goals. Part of Lancashire Cup winning team in 1919. Only his team mate walter gowers played more games.
last game 25/4/31 v barrow at home first game 18/1/19 v Oldham (a) scored try in 8-2 win

Thankyou, I don't think we knew much of that at all. The Wigan connection makes sense, several distant family members from Wigan turned up at my wedding, they stood at the bar at the wedding reception (Midway Hotel), spoke little and drank copiously!

Jack (real name John) was my Great Grandfather. Its nice to hear about him becauss obviously we never met, but he sounds a lot like my Grandfather (also Jack Heaton).
I have opinions of my own -- strong opinions -- but I don't always agree with them.

And I bet they left early . . the 'Wigan Walk'.
Struggling with photo but will get help from my wife (shame of it - no alternative - I dont have any 5 year olds at home who would sort it out in a jiffy). My problem is the photo is on my iPad not in a folder on laptop and my efforts have all been in vain. Also got photo of the cup winning team that he is on.

I'm interested in the Dale. So I open all threads hoping to read about Dale.
I suspect there are the likes of you, Ell Dale and the very annoying pioneer who are waging a Hornets cold war on Dale fans by inflating the Hornets history to make them some sort of civic legend. They aren't. They folded.
You all over-emphasize your Dale-watching longevity. I don't buy it. You've been now and again.
Pioneer: Prove your Dale credentials: Name your best ever Dale side 1 to 11. Do it now.
I've spent years calling out bullshitters on here, and Hornets sympathisers are all bull shitters.

Just take your Hornets shit elsewhere. FFS.
Oops the R17ALE secret police are out in force.
I think if you care to look at my many posts you will discover not only have I been a dale fan for many years (possibly far more than you), I have a long standing interest in Dales proud history and I have far more shares in Dale than I have in Hornets and participated as an existing shareholder in the outsting of the ‘old guard’ last year.
But what would you know?
Cleary my credentials dont satisfy your criteria for being a dale fan, which seem to revolve around blowing smoke up your rear end. That must be a massive cohort of Dale fans.
Up the dale Come on Ornits

If you check my posts you’ll see that I talk more about Dale than anything else. I used to follow Hornets regularly in the 1960s and 1970s but haven’t been to one of their games as a spectator for 30 years. So no hidden agenda, honestly. There threads on here about cricket and politics too.

Thanks to DL for the instructions - it took me a while!
Thank you so much for taking the trouble to post these pictures, we haven't seen them before, I will arrange for them to be seen by family members. Thankyou again.

Surely can’t be going full-time? I can’t think what else it’d be.
They're off to Mayfield from next season maybe?
Fits with the previous social media sniping from Mazey about Spotland, us taking on the mortgage on Spotland rather than Denehurst Park (subject to EGM) etc?
Surely they don't have the income to go full time..

Steve Kerr is Hornets’ CEO and he’s getting excited too:

You'd have to think it is another young loan player from a Super League club with ex-Hornets family connections as Hornets seek to gain an advantage for an upcoming big weekend away at Keighley.
Interesting that the Keighley site is quoting that "This season is crucial. There may not be promotion after this."

There may not be. Still talk of reorganising things so that there’s two ‘top level’ leagues of ten per league, all professional, with the amateur/community game residing below a glass ceiling. Expecting an announcement by the summer as it’s been in consultation for quite some time.
