Little Tom Carroll on 14:51 - Sep 4 by francisbowles | This has been done the right way. Trialed and observed, strengths and weaknesses taken into account, decision made, 1 year contract within budget and with a 1 year option, presumably. If he does well no one can pinch him, if it doesn't work then we have lost very little in the grand scheme of things. |
Or Option 3, he smashes it, leaves on a free for a Premiership Club and all those whinging about signing him in the first place will be ranting and raving about the club not being able to negotiate out of a paper bag. [Post edited 4 Sep 2020 16:57]

He can't leave on a free for two years by which time he will be 30.

Lee Hoos has a fcking option on his Waitrose shop so I'd be amazed if there wasn't.

Was you in a coma Brian for the Gerry years ?

Doesn't that sort of sum up most of last season? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

They were great years, PP, I'm not sure if I missed a single game of his reign. But I preferred the football under Howe. Gerry was a bit more direct, especially if we lost a game or two. Howe was all football, which was a surprise given the Arsenal 70-71 connection.

I know what you mean. Gerry's was a better team, it had more steel, but Don Howe's was amazingly entertaining. Les Ferdinand was the cutting edge of Francis' side, Roy Wegerle was it for Don Howe and that sums them up for me. TBH I wish Warbs' Rangers were a little bit more Gerry Francis but I know what you mean when you say it's the most entertaining since Howe.
Little Tom Carroll on 03:11 - Sep 5 with 2063 views | PlanetHonneywood | The most telling sentiment to what is a largely underwhelming signing, are the numerous comments about trusting Warbs. Not something we’ve had since Warnock’s first pre-season at the helm and it wasn’t much in abundance before then either. Progress of a fashion indeed.

Not sure Warnock got that to be honest. Loads of Qs around the signings of two crocks from Palace and a pre-season playing Cornish pub teams followed by family BBQs is what I remember...

I agree. Very rusty early on, giving away a handful of passes but excellent once he settled and really got us going forward.

Was nice to see a centre mid pick it up in space and look to drop a ball in behind the defence for Bright or Oteh to run onto. I think we have been a bit predictable in our attacks for a while now where the defence is confident that everything is in front of them and on the floor. Of course Eze was still a magican that created things and Bright can as well with close control and pace but doesn't harm to add another dimension to our play, especially now Eze has gone.
Little Tom Carroll on 15:41 - Sep 6 with 1454 views | BrianMcCarthy | Excellent point, Dixie. Particularly, I suppose, against teams who play - like Plymouth did - with a high line? [Post edited 6 Sep 2020 15:42]

Little Tom Carroll on 10:35 - Sep 2 by Metallica_Hoop | Did you see the Virtual Download festival this year? Kylie Olsson looked good enough to be re -cast in white marble and worshiped forever more as a goddess. Tom Carroll on a free might work. I guess it depends how cheap he comes. He's got to be better than last time. [Post edited 2 Sep 2020 10:36]

Thanks for the tip re the online festival, I will have a look. Your comment about the white marble is spot on (swoon).
