Let him leave then apart from a couple of nice goals a season which he ain't doing anymore he's a lazy liability, sloppy in possession waste of space

The only through balls he can pull off are bog standard one's when the defence has already been pulled apart, when was the last time he pulled off a ball like Fernandez's at Manchester City, someone who allegedly can't pass forward?

I don't even know what he's supposed to be doing half the time what is his role, I've heard him described as a box to box player but you rarely see him in either I've seen Britton and Cork ahead of him when we're on the attack and he's dog shit defensively.

Maybe he's in the team for his magical set piece ability?

He's playing like a shit Darren Pratley but at least you couldn't describe him as lazy and he would cover ground.

The ball that split Arsenal apart when Gomis missed the one on one was probably the best pass of our season.

I actually agree with you if you read what I have said. It is the press and unsubstantiated rumours that are the problem.

If I've misread your post then I apologise for my bad.
The press and unsubstantiated rumours make good bed partners, the problem is, peoples inability to differentiate between fact and rumour, fact!!............... I think????

I apologise too. The iPad battery was running low and I tried to bang a quick one out before it died. :-) I came across a rude and did not mean to be.
My general point is we should not trust the press as there as many are just waiting for us to fail.
PS is one of the biggest football boards and we are not helping if we feed certain rumours that the press will sease upon. I am talking about the 'look at me' type BS posts we get from time to time. Also when we start talking about the personal lives of Directiors, players and their WAGs then extreme caution is advised IMHO. Otherwise legal eagles could be visiting some posters. Oyston and Blackpool supporters is an example there.
We are entering probably the most crucial time in the club's history and I think we should attempt to provide a united front as far as possible at this critical time.
PS does not disrupt the club but the gutter press making up stories to fill their pages can do that. I agree that it is deciding which is fact and which is fiction is key but many do not seem able to do that and believe if it is in the papers it must be correct. Daily Mail readers for example ;-)

I hear what you're saying, and to a certain extent I agree with you.
But in this case I think the Legal Eagles would have their work cut out to nail this on any individual for repeating a rumour, rather than on someone claiming it to be fact.

You could be right but I would not like to risk it ;-)

A decent coach could make a top player out of JJS. He has all the attributes to make a very good Premier league player. He seems quite 'needy' to me, needs a lot of guidance and has come some way to maturing over the summer with his personal chef and all that. Although those recent rumours suggest he's gone backwards somewhat.
Keep him, encourage him, guide him - it will bear fruit.

Ah, another one of those 'it is understood' reports. I hope this is as accurate as the Ryan Giggs story has been.
Sounds like more lazy journalism. Huw addresses all the players telling them the performances are not up to standard. Jon Jo can be a hothead so they put 2 and 2 together. They really don't like us and I hope this is the usual press bollo.

So Huw criticises the players and then sacks Monk. How does that work?

Got talent but would suit a long ball setup which hopefully will end with the demise of monk

I liked the look of him when he first came to the side. And I had hopes he'd sort it and become something of a player for us-- I've always been pro-jonjo. But if there was a bust up with Huw and the club then yeah, off with him.

Bielsa will sort him out one way or the other,no way would he let a current English International leave without seeing him in training and playing competitive games, unless of course the money for Shelvey went in the purchase of a striker.

Unless we ship Eder out I expect any striker signing to be a loan

He doesn't have "all the attributes" at all. He's as athletic as a sack of spuds and has no defensive drive or instinct at all. Give him all the coaching in the world, it won't fix those problems.

He can see and play a pass, and hit a decent shot when he manages to get it out of his feet, but that's about it.

Passing and shooting is not a bad start.
Doesn't mind a tackle to be fair.
Doesn't back out and last season we needed that.
Been a bit over rated that's all but he us keeping his head down and could improve further.
Arteta is slower, older and can't tackle, pass or shoot as well as Shelvey.
