One of our old posters on the Rivals board, Ron Gould, was in that film. One of the kids playing football at the start of the film. Filmed in Paddington by the Grand Union I believe.

West London LaLaLa was my user name on the old Rivals forum. Should’ve stuck with that name because now people on here occasionally think I am actually Peter Hucker. (I’m not)

Well everybody knows down in Ladbroke Grove you have to leap across the street you can lose your life under a taxi cab you've got to have eyes on your feet

My Great Grandmother died in a traffic accident on Ladbroke Grove, before my time.

On the side of the road where the camera was, there was a pub built on a slope called the Admiral Blake but locals called it the Cowshed. Trumans ale so that was good. Legend has it that a bass guitar stolen from Paul McCartney was unknowingly bought by the pub Guv, and wasn't seen again for 50 years. Anyone remember ?

I have to correct that assertion as a matter of historical fact and a friend’s memory. My best mate’s dad ran the Admiral Blake, late ‘60s into the ‘70s. Ron would never have stood for any of that sort of carry-on. https://www.theundergroundmap.com/article.html?id=2942
Also, the Narrow Boat (Wally & Irene) was a great little pub, but it was on the Ladbroke Grove canal bridge further back towards Kensal Green.
Had to jump in there, apols.

Fck me - I remember when Police Cars (and Fire Engines) had bells and not sirens. (Mind you, I knew I was old last week when I reached the top of the allotment waiting list).

It’s just horrible, isn’t it. The only way is up. One of the good things about our bit of suburban West London is that it’s not going double high rise in Hillingdon. Just a matter of time.
Did I ever mention that I was in Minder?
