Min-Hyeok Yang 00:03 - Feb 6 with 6906 viewsfraserc

Now that Min-Hyeok Yang has been loaned to us, there is a phenomenal amount of South Korean QPR content on YouTube, including quite a few match vlogs, for example:

There are many more to be found. Admittedly the vlogs do tend to concentrate on Yang, but in one of the videos he goes to the store and buys a QPR top, and shows quite a few South Koreans trying to get Yang's attention as he sat in the dugout before the match.

I find the concept of following a player, regardless of the team, quite the phenomenon but the Korean comments are very complimentary to the Rs.

Hmmmm. I remember this last time. It quickly becomes a right arse-ache.

Yep, everytime the south Korean player touches the ball, it turns into a Taylor Swift concert with a cacophony of high pitched squels.

There was a Japanese flag in the Paddock too which I thought was was nice.

Can get annoying but not like the ground was particularly full yesterday - was surprised how empty it was actually. Need to go on a losing run to fill it up again evidently!

Cracking atmosphere I thought though - voice only just recovering,

Not for the club though, good exposure in the Asian market, more merchandise sales, more ticket sales. £££

One of the videos I am currently watching the guy spent £70 on a named shirt, £32 on a ticket and £12 on a beer and hot dog. Probably a lot more than an average fan would spend on a match day.

Be careful what you wish for. This is the precise reason Daniel Levy at spurs is getting rid of concession season tickets for elderly fans.

He knows the day trippers spend far more money than your average fan, so the average fan can do one.

Ps, regarding the Japanese flag. A young lad brought it to Plymouth a few weeks ago, and when Paul Smyth pointed it out to Saito at the end of the game, I've never seen someone look as happy as he did. Massive smile, waving to the lad

Everytime he says "Sumida (sp)" I think of 'Squid Game'.

I just finished watching one of the videos.

What's with the Paul Nardi fan club?

He has more fans waiting for him after the game than Min-Hyeok singing a French song to him. At the 19:35 mark.

Daniel Levy has a 20,000 ST waiting list and we had 6,000 empty seats.

The club would be mental to chip away at that foundation.

Fair point, with a 17500 capacity that could easily happen here.

That said, as Landshark mentions, we do need the money and they do spend. Any regular down here knows any culinary matchday experience is best carried out in the pubs and restaurants away from the ground. I baulk at the cost of a bottle of water inside and steer well clear of warm beer and volcanic balti pies these days.

As Hoopstar says, think our support thrives on adversity, it traditionally improves the worst we get so there is room for more, particularly whilst we are on an upward trajectory.

Shame we haven’t got a bigger ground so we could welcome rather than be guarded about a new input of support but that’s out of our hands.

Yes, there were nearly 5,000 empty seats. In 'normal' times, perhaps not a surprise, but attendances have been remarkably good this season.

Oi the balti pies are lush, now that we've gone back to Pukka.

Whatever the reason is, it's an amazing reception. It's a long time since I was last outside SA when the players come out, but I've never seen anything like that before.

They're singing the Marseillaise, the French national anthem. Someone on Twitter said it was a school group that turned up.

I bow to your better knowledge, you are the chef.

Last had one pre pukka and I’m still waiting for the skin to grow back on the roof of my mouth.

Watching those videos, and seeing the change in demographic at games, his signing makes more sense to me now

He shows a lot more enthusiasm for joining in with Hi Ho Silver Lining. He, along with Varane, love joining when we win.

The grass is always greener.

I’m sure I saw Yang signing a White Hart Lane street sign! Another £10 we lost out on.

He'll notice a difference at Spurs next year when he will be lucky to even get the players car fumes. MC giving Yang instructions before he came on wonder if he understood a word of it. Also noticed Nardi's fan club is mainly young females.Always good to have different demographics ( 6 across yesterdays crossword).

I think without a Korean interpeter Yang will struggle. Watching on tv it seemed he was not agressive enough pressing towards the end and Blackburn were able to move the ball easily into midfield.
In his first apperance he got a superb shot off and was very active off the ball. He did send in a beautiful cross though it would have been a stunning goal in front of the loft.
Between Edwards and Nardi we appear to have some good looking lads playing for us but I would love Nicole's opinion instead of older men

We've got a very diverse team now languge-wise so I'm sure they've thought about how to get instructions across through a language barrier, even if it's just teaching him to understand Jimmy shouting "stop" and "go."

Well Pat, obviously they're way too young for me but if I were 22, there's something about the French accent, ahem ...
