If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs 09:09 - Jan 19 with 17801 views | numptydumpty | Would you want that ??? For me, an emphatic NO... If the playing fields were much more even, then absolutely yes, but it could do to us like what has happened to Luton and many others. We are on the crest of a wave currently - and I want that to continue for as long as is possible. Yes this scenario is very unlikely to happen but just wondered what others thought. It's amazing what's happening at the moment but the Leicester game who have lost seven in a row in the premiership shows the gulf. Just wondering what others think ?? [Post edited 19 Jan 9:11]

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 12:21 - Jan 19 with 1912 views | BristolR | Wth you, esp. the final paragraph. As others have said, why not but my memories of the Prem was seen through very gritted teeth…and ridiculous ticket prices. On balance, would prefer to go up and bank the cash/trust Marti and the core of this squad, with a few careful additions (striker)
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 12:29 - Jan 19 with 1881 views | ManinBlack | I don't think it is an issue. We won't go up as we don't score enough goals and we still have a lot of tough games to face. If any side in this league had a prolific goalscorer they would walk it. I want us to go up automatically in the future when we look good enough to compete. I do not want us to get a Southampton style dismal points total of 6 points by mid January or a Sheffield United masterclass of 8-0, 6-0 and 5-0 home defeats of last season. Getting humiliated could scar our players and Marti in the long term so we need to be ready. Only a few weeks ago we were bottom so let's learn to walk before we start running. The Leicester defeat last week demonstrated we are not ready for the top league against a side who have lost 7 in a row without scoring. We concede 6 and then Palace and Fulham go there and win 2-0. There is a yawning gap between us and even mid table Premiership sides. The money would be nice and make us more competitive in the Championship but at what cost? I bet we would sack Marti half way through a Premiership one season disaster. [Post edited 19 Jan 12:31]

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 12:31 - Jan 19 with 1876 views | WestonsuperR | If we don’t want to get promoted, the revenue that naturally brings and the memories created by another playoff win then not sure why we are bothering? Surely the aim is to least at least attempt to stay in the highest league possible, even if at times it will be a painful watch. We were pretty dire in our last top slight season but wouldn't swap that for the win at Wembley and that Zamora moment.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 12:45 - Jan 19 with 1824 views | ManinBlack | Well I'm not saying I don't want us to ever go up. I am just saying not now as we are not ready for that leap just yet. I know if we go up now, the owners eyes will light up with big money pound signs and then when we are bottom, they will sack Marti because they want to stay with the money. We will still go down and then face Championship football without Marti. Is it worth that now? Let's have a few good seasons under Marti where we are now and then push on.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 13:33 - Jan 19 with 1752 views | The_Beast1976 | Would love to win the Championship, then stay in the Champtionship and defend our title as Champions of the Football League. That would be my ideal scenario (no Prem to get promoted to, with the Champ being the top division for Football League clubs)
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 13:38 - Jan 19 with 1739 views | Paddyhoops | I think you’ll find Forest broke a lot of rules to get where they did. Or cheated . Whichever you prefer.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 13:41 - Jan 19 with 1732 views | derbyhoop | Why would you not want a PL place? Even with all the reservations about not being competitive enough, the money thrown at average players, the tourist fans, etc. If we took a more conservative approach, banked most of the money and used it to set the club up for 10 years or more. Saying all that, I don't believe we're good enough to do it. Not this season!!!

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 13:50 - Jan 19 with 1704 views | californiahoop | Tell Bournemouth with crowds of 10k plus, it doesn’t work or Brentford with 18k, Fulham have akso stabilised in the Prem, done sensibly, it can work out!
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 14:17 - Jan 19 with 1655 views | Wegerles_Stairs | Nourry knows what he wants. While his failure to admit mistakes can be criticised I prefer his approach to Les's. A frequent defence of Les was that he wanted something but was overruled by the owners. To me, if you continually accept that interference, then it makes you look weak. The approach to blooding young players early is the thing that impresses me most so far. It's crazy that we were keeping players into their early 20s hoping they'd transform overnight like Cinderella's pumpkin. I'm 50 and a tiny part of me still thinks I could be a Premier League player - and realistically there's just as much chance as the likes of Niko.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 14:18 - Jan 19 with 1654 views | BklynRanger | I don't want us to lose any matches, but I am very ambivalent about going up, so I know what you mean. Agree with the comments about going up and banking the money, but getting tonked every week by a load of arsehole clubs just isn't that much fun. Hopefully things would be different, and I would love to see how Marti would do at that level, might suit his style very well. So fair enough, I'll say yes - I'd just about like to go up, because I want us to win every game and have a team to be proud of, and it's not realistic or sensible to expect to win the playoff final and tell the Prem to fcuk right off.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 14:18 - Jan 19 with 1656 views | cheeseydane | But they had prepared better. Their squads were better. 2 years more under MC before we even think about promotion. [Post edited 19 Jan 14:20]

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 14:55 - Jan 19 with 1579 views | GetMeRangers | SKahoops...That was supposed to be a thumbs up...so much talk as if the current squad would be that which was asked to compete in the Prem. It would be learning the mistakes of Rednapp/Hughes and investing in players that would put you in good stead should relagation came to pass. Would rather get promoted than wait for some mythical perfect season to do so... [Post edited 19 Jan 14:56]

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 15:21 - Jan 19 with 1514 views | quickpassrotter | We need money. Just one season in the Prem is going to help that big time. Prepared to suffer the Home 5 nil thumpings by the likes of Liverpool etc to ensure that we have financial survival.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 16:31 - Jan 19 with 1424 views | davman | We need to build, season onu season before considering it. Top 12 this season, top 8 next, then playoff semi finalist and then either automatic or play off winners. Look at yesterday's team and performance. Look at last week v Leicester who keep losing in the prem. A different planet to teams in the prem. If we fluked our way up (and it would be a fluke), we'd have to mortgage the clubs future to build a competitive squad. That means doing a Forest. They have got away with it by staying up. Does anyone think we would? Build season on season. When we win more than we lose over 3 seasons, then we can talk.

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 16:36 - Jan 19 with 1417 views | NewYorkRanger | I don't think it does mean that. I suspect it means you don't want to see us get humped every week in the Premier League like last time we were up. It's more fun winning games than not. But herein lies the conundrum - to your point, we want to win games. But winning inn the champ could mean promotion to the prem - and then losing loads of games. And round we go. FWIW, I'd take it in a heartbeat - via the play offs would be amazing, and as others have said, as long as we didn't sack Marti cos we lose a load of games, then I'd be up for it

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 16:39 - Jan 19 with 1387 views | stainrods_elbow | I'm struck by the way some people don't want us to progress/go up, because, basically, they're frightened of our failing if we do. Pretentiousness (or 'overreach') is the basis of doing anything. I guess that's why they're not professional football people (or maybe professional anything). [Post edited 19 Jan 16:56]

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 16:39 - Jan 19 with 1404 views | gazza1 | Of course I want Premier League football.......really so strange that so many do not want it and look at it as a negatives. Thankfully, none of the First team squad, Academy players, none of the Management & Coaches, fitness guys, backroom staff, Board and Club Management think that way. They all want Premier football for QPR. [Post edited 19 Jan 16:41]

If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 16:55 - Jan 19 with 1359 views | mart_Goblin | Not black and white this… getting humped in the gob every week is soul destroying, but the best season in probably my life time was that promotion year under Warnock . It’s where we have to aspire too otherwise what really is the point ? However I feel like an imposter even thinking about it right now . But I guess that’s the mentality that Marti and the club need to change .
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 17:09 - Jan 19 with 1323 views | GaryHaddock | I don’t think there is any need to criticise anyone who doesn’t want Premiership football. The criticisms of that circus are valid, and it’s not as if people chatting on a forum have any power about it anyway. Supporting a football club serves different purposes for different people.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 17:12 - Jan 19 with 1312 views | californiahoop | Fair point, with the money from one season, we could prepare well also, Bournemouth had a similar squad to ours when they got promoted, it wouldn't be the worse thing if we got promoted.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 17:18 - Jan 19 with 1290 views | gazza1 | If your post is about mine.......then if 'strange' is criticizing then sobeit!!!
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 17:18 - Jan 19 with 1289 views | GroveR | We have to want to get promoted. Otherwise, why bother? As regards the step up in quality, I can deal with losing if we're trying but when the players can't be fùcked, why should I? The draw at Reading that relegated us the first time around was total rock bottom for me. Even the Sky commentary had the grace to apologise for the shìt we served up and the utterly laissez-faire way in which we did it. "Relegated you say? Oh well..." Be competitive (even more so in London derbies and double that in West London derbies) and I'll be happy. Bank the cash, improve the squad incrementally (ban contract from "super" agents), rinse and repeat.
If a miracle happened and we went up via the playoffs on 17:20 - Jan 19 with 1277 views | thehat | I would spend the £15M on the next phase of upgrading the training centre. That is the lifeblood of the club. Don’t go mad on silly transfers that’s what we did last time. In the likely event of relegation we would be in a much better position to go back up with the club having a strong financial backbone for the first time in a generation.
