There is a bit of a groundswell for Rohl and some on here and other social media sites are saving that Hasenhuttl went downhill after Rohl left but that is wrong.

Rohly was here for the second half of the 2018/19 season, Saints finished 16th on 39 points, the following season a Rohlless Ralph finished 11th on 52 points

Rohl seems to have done a pretty incredible job at Wednesday given the basket case the club is, that combined with the fact he's been with us before is probably the main thinking as to why people want him.

Also from what i understand Rohl was the person who coached the players and had the relationship with them when he was with us, Ralph by all accounts was pretty removed and very analytical in his decision making.

I would say that is pretty much the case with most managers and their assistants, the assistant manages the coaching and the players whilst the main man stays a little aloof from the dressing room.

I would be happy with Rohl,after a difficult start has turned Wednesday into a decent side.
The only trouble is will he want to leave Wednesday who are pushing for the playoffs for a team rooted to the bottom of the premiership?
No one can say Wednesday are not a big club whereas we are a mess.

Rohl would be a good shout. Given our current position I can’t see Potter or a big name taking over. Rohl knows the club and has done well on a limited budget at Sheffield Weds. We are certain to go down so Rohl with a remit to see an improvement in the second half of the season and then rebuild wouldn’t be a bad option.

I'm sure Rohl is good. Despite what Nick says, there was a real sense at the time that something changed when he last left.

But the problem with appointing someone who's not managed in the PL before is that we never know whether bad results are down to their inexperience or the quality of the players.

Moyes failed to keep Sunderland up but he clearly knows what he is doing at this level.

He has got to be the best option and the club need to persuade him to try again to save a team in red and white.

He's got 22 games to find 8 wins and 8 draws.

Yeah could do worse and he might recall Charles and get a tune out of him ... wouldn't be too expensive, knows the club, comes across well on TV.. etc.

I think the key is that we get relegated with some dignity left and have a fighting chance of automatic promotion next season. Who the person that can give us that is beyond me but I suspect there are a fair few - many of whom have been named so far.

Do we trust SR though to make a decent decision? At the end of the day, owners are just caretakers - in this case they would struggle with a mop and a broom though.

The managers who would definitely improve us will not want to come. So Rohl is a good option from the ones that are left. But I think he'll be unavailable too.

He signed a new contract in the summer through to 2027. Buying him out of that will cost close to whatever has to be paid to RM in severance. That will put SR off. And that's if Sheff Wed even allow us to talk to him and he wants to swap SWFC for SFC. The legal battles that followed from RM leaving Swansea will put SR off anything that treads on SWFC's toes. All in all, I can't see it happening. SR are more likely to go for an unemployed manager.
