 | Forum Thread | Strikers in the Sport Republic reign at 08:30 24 Mar 2025
With the news of yet another Ross Stewart injury setback I thought I’d put together a list of Saints strikers bought by SR: 1. Sekou Mara cost £10.2, paid £2.6m (£1.3m pa for 2yrs) scored 4 2. Paul Onuachu cost £18m, paid £3m (£1.5m pa for 2yrs) scored 3 3. Ross Stewart cost £10m, paid £2.1m (£1.04m Pa for 2yrs) scored 0 4. Cameron Archer cost £17m, paid £2m for 1yr scored 2 5. Ben Brereton-Diaz cost £7m paid £1.82m for 1 year scored 0 So in the 2.5 years Sport Republic have been here they’ve bought 5 strikers at the cost including wages of £73.72m with a goal return of 9 goals These are possibly the most incompetent owners in the history of football |

 | Forum Thread | Sports Republic PL managerial points record at 00:03 23 Feb 2025
SR sack Ralph and appoint Nathan Jones to keep us up Nathan Jones - P 8, W 1, D 0, L 7, 3 points out of possible 24 So they replace him with Seles Ruben Seles - P 18, W 2, D 5, L 11; 11 points from a possible 54 So they sack him and appoint Martin. We get promoted and I think most fans knew that unless Martin changed his style of play we’d get dicked every week Martin’s PL record - P 14, W 1, D 2, L 11; 5 points from a possible 42 So SR sack him way too late and appoint Juric Juric’s PL record so far - P 9, W 1 , D 0, L 8; 3 points from a possible 27 So Sports Republic’s managerial appointments have bagged us 22 PL points from a possible 147 available points Bunch of tools [Post edited 23 Feb 7:34]

Played against Ipswich and looked good in a game that we actually won and since then has played about 4 minutes. WTF is going on Similarly Bella-Kotchap, just over a year ago was in the German squad and now we're playing midfielders and full backs at CB because ABK isn't naturally left sided. Surely a right sided German international is able to be trusted at the left side CB. It's not like being a left back or left wing where it's important to have a strong left foot. KWP seems to do okay at LB with a weaker left foot. Team selections are perplexing me at present. |

Good to see they’re taking FFP seriously 😁 With 115 charges of financial misconduct hanging over them they go and spend 217m € in one window. They know the PL won’t do anything for fear of derailing their gravy train The corruption and greed in football is seriously reaching new heights - or lows. How can teams like us hope to compete. The sooner the big clubs pišš off to a super league the better |

So Juric said he’s told SR what he wanted during this transfer window Obviously he said he wanted f*ck all |

Having a great season at Bourno. Scored a great 4th goal against Toon today He was a player we decided not to buy 🙄 |
 | Forum Thread | How long before Juric gets p*ssed off at 23:20 15 Jan 2025
Keep hearing Juric saying he needs more players to improve the squad but we’re now nearly halfway through the window and we’re not even being seriously linked with anyone, just lots of noise about who’s leaving Is it time yet for Juric to beat the sh*t out of Solak in the car park? 😎 [Post edited 15 Jan 23:21]

 | Forum Thread | Transfer window meeting at 09:36 9 Jan 2025
We’re led to believe that our board had their first transfer meeting on Tuesday, over a week after the window opened, but so far unlike most other teams all I have read is players leaving and not arriving My guess is SR will leave it til the final day and make a couple of lower division panic buys |
 | Forum Thread | New manager at 09:15 21 Dec 2024
Whatever anyone thinks about the appointment of Juric we’ve collectively got to get behind the team to the end of the season however results go Juric has got an almost impossible job to keep us up. God knows what SR will do in the transfer window but the fact that Kevin Danso’s name has already been mentioned means they are unlikely to be giving Juric much of a helping hand We can’t afford to have the bed wetters turning on the team if we lose three on a row and we have to support the team regardless if we’re to stand any chance Personally I’d set the first target as beating Derby’s 2008 low points tally of 11 points and work up from that COYS we march on |

Get a f***ing grip and sort this club out |
 | Forum Thread | Rumours at 21:34 9 Dec 2024
I’ve heard Kjetil Knutsen might be a possible replacement for Martin I could see that. No pedigree, Scandi connections and like Ankersen has a surname that could be changed humourously 😄 |

Having pulled Wolfsburg out of the relegation zone after being appointed at the end of last season and after a slow start this season Ralph has got Wolfsburg on a roll. He's taken them from just above the relegation zone to 3 points off Leipzig in 4th place and 2 points off a Champions League place. Recent results have seen Wolfsburg spank 4th place Leipzig 1-5 away and knock 5th place Dortmund out of the club. I wonder what he'd have done for us with the sort of transfer backing that Martin has had |
 | Forum Thread | Never mind the (VAR) B0ll0x at 12:12 30 Nov 2024
The official VAR decision was that Adam Armstrong was adjudged to be critically impacting on Verbruggen’s ability to play the ball. Verbruggen was rooted to the spot at the near post when the cross came in. I watched the replay and timed the cross. It took 0.9 seconds for the cross to get from Fraser to Archer. It took 0.4 seconds from when the ball passed Armstrong to Archer putting it in the back of the net. For Verbruggen to have got from the position he was in into a position to save Archer’s shot he'd have had to have covered 7.32m in 0.9 seconds. When Usain Bolt set the 100m record he travelled at 12.33m per second from a sprint start. Verbruggen would have had to travel at 8.13m/sec from a standing start starting side on. If this was the same VAR official as the Wolves game then the club should be asking for an investigation into possible Pompey connections, ie see if he has 6 fingers on each hand or webbed toes |
 | Forum Thread | Let’s not kid ourselves at 20:38 29 Nov 2024
The position we find ourselves in has absolutely nothing to do with the manager or the players. The fault falls squarely with the owners. Bunch of rank amateurs. Sports Republic out |

Both think we’ll be relegated which is great news as that pair of tossers couldn’t predict the outcome of a Tyson Fury v Alan Carr boxing match |
 | Forum Thread | Next season at 18:50 2 May 2024
Assuming we go up which players will we keep and who will we need to offload? I think KWP and Sulemana will be sold and Rothwell and Brooks will go back to Bournemouth. McCarthy, Che and Stuey will leave at the end of their contracts but only Stuey would be good enough for a PL start. The players I think could do a job as first teamers are: Harwood-Bellis, Janny B and Downes plus Fraser and Aribo as late subs. The likelihood is though that Man City recall TH-B and WHU recall Downes Players who could possibly be fringe players are Smallbone, Adam Armstrong, Bazunu, Stephens, Charles, Edozie, Amo-Ameyaw Bree, Manning, Lumbley and Mara are nowhere near good enough and need to be sold. I have no idea whether Ross Stewart and Juan Larios will ever be fit so how they'd perform in the PL is another question. Two of our best performers last season are out on loan ie Perraud and Alcaraz who could be recalled. Mateusz Lis is at the end of his loan at Goztepe and should return Not looking good is it when SR spent £130m last year on the likes of Sulemana, Onuachu, Mara, Caleta-Car, Orsic, Bree, Maitland-Niles (loan), Lyanco and Larios. |

Next season we are going to have to have a massive squad rebuild How many people on here trust Sports Republic to get it right? |
 | Forum Thread | Leeds thumped 4-0 by QPR at 12:32 27 Apr 2024
So if we'd beaten Middlesbrough, Hull, Millwall and Rotherham at home and assuming we beat Stoke we'd be going into the Leeds game 7 points ahead of Leeds, probably 3 points behind Leicester and 2 points ahead of Ipswich if neither of them drop a point before the last game Automatic promotion was easily do-able |
