I think the laws around corporation tax need changing so that every pound earned in the UK pays its tax in the UK. It should be the law that they have to have a UK head office or don't bother coming here.
If there's a succesful business they will either do it or not but if they don't it leaves the door open for a UK entrepreneur to start up.

I don't think that's the real problem. No the real problem is that politicians and corprations (the rich and powerful) are bedfellows.
Think back to when the government wanted to re-write tax laws. They went out and got specialist law firms to help them write the new laws. Turned out that those companies then knew all the loopholes for their rich clients, they knew them because they had inserted them into the laws.
It was crooked as hell and it hasn't been changed. That didn't happen because the politicians weren't bright enough, no it happened because they were complicit. | | | |
