Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 20:40 - Aug 6 with 1932 views | deepdale81 | Just think without effective wing backs with wingers ability, martins plan will never work. Kyle joseph would do a better job as a wing back than labeatiure, and he,s off .What about that boy from shrewsbury he should be given a chance . When is the last time we won by the way ? I notice Ryan Hedges played for them today, was with the swans for a while.

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 20:44 - Aug 6 with 1896 views | STID2017 | Talking to a friend after the game. Obviously none of us had anything positive to say about today's game. However his comments echoed the last part of your statement. We have quite a large section of fans who have become entitled. The peaks and troughs have been part of his experience since the early 60"s. If we sack Martin, where the heck to those calling for his head expect the money to pay him and his staff off Also unless there is an influx of money ( which there won't be) why does anyone expect the team / squad to improve

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 20:54 - Aug 6 with 1864 views | deepdale81 | Times like this I think of 1975 re election, 1985 us going out of existence with mel nurse and the high court appeal and of course the great escape in 2002. So things are much better than those days but with a recession looming can we trust the owners
Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 21:01 - Aug 6 with 1841 views | vetchonian | no sense of entitlement but expectation I have posted elsewhere back in the bad old days we had no pot to p in...trained on public parks and were not selling players on to the top division for £10m profit and still have a strike force we are valuing at £25m I remember the days of re election the rise and fall of the Tosh era the high court the wilderness years...but expectations were based on what we had...since then we have come a long way....I dont forget those days i am grateful of being in the 2nd tier but i worry this manager will be our undoing

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 21:38 - Aug 6 with 1700 views | angryjack | Martin has got to go now..I could tell you all the reasons why but I have had a drink ..the bloke is a fraud
Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 21:41 - Aug 6 with 1699 views | shingle | Nothing to do with good or bad times my gripe is our manager , I had an idea from his first press conference and have said from the very beginning the guy was a smooth talking fraud, while you obviously did not have any idea just how poor a manager he is.
Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 21:50 - Aug 6 with 1642 views | angryjack | There's a difference in getting the ball to the strijers when we move balk quick and the strukers are running onto balls in good areas and then the way we play when it is slow and pedestrianised and the strikers have got defenders around them and can only go backwards. Martins style is ruining good player's
Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 22:03 - Aug 6 with 1603 views | Dr_Parnassus | Exactly, this newly trotted out (but poorly thought out) notion that because we were in League 2 once upon a time then any dross served up by Martin is great is ludicrously stupid. Especially when these same people complained in a season we came 4th. As you say, when we were in League 2 we were playing in line with the quality of squad we had and the size of budget we had. It was one of the worst squads and smallest budgets in the whole football pyramid. Now we have the 8th biggest budget in the Championship and players that most other clubs in this league would fall over themselves to have. As for where the money comes from to pay off Martin and his team. Anywhere is my answer. Sell Piroe. We have a much better chance of success with a competent manager in a side without Piroe than an incompetent manager in charge of a team with Piroe in. No brainer.

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 22:10 - Aug 6 with 1598 views | Brynmill_Jack | We do have a good side but this complete fraud has clearly lost the players with his idiotic "system" - its not a system of course its just him telling the players to play walking football. Time to go - now.

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 22:11 - Aug 6 with 1597 views | cadleigh | I do have a lot of sympathy for your position - seeing so many posters revert to ‘Martin out’ rather than discussing what can practically make a difference in the next game must be incredibly frustrating if you still believe in Martin’s project. So here goes. 1 I would drop Fisher for Benda. 2 I would revert to a back four, with Cabango and Darling in CB, Naughton and Manning at FB. 3 I’d spend the rest of the transfer window trying to get some speedy wingers in. Or maybe just one speedy winger, tasked with floating from side to side like Hernandez did under Laudrup. 4 I’d instruct the team to move the ball forward with pace and not be afraid to lose possession by taking a chance. All of which is a long way of saying that our problems start with the manager, his single-mindedness and the absence of anyone at the club able to tell him where he is going wrong. Unfortunately our problems probably don’t end when he goes, whenever that might be. As I (and many others) have been predicting for a year now, he will leave us with an unbalanced squad that will take another season, maybe two, to put right, whether he leaves under a cloud or spirited away by a Premier League club. But let’s not get carried away: we are only two games into the season, a lot can change yet.

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 22:29 - Aug 6 with 1561 views | Brynmill_Jack | He offered is usual nothing as far as I could see. Ntcham was gutless and Fulton not much better. Playing the ball around at walking pace at the back isn't helping anyone to be fair but the game was crying out for someone to take responsibility and at least try to carry the ball forward. I was ashamed of them today. No guts Edit - this reply was meant for the post relating to Grimes [Post edited 6 Aug 2022 22:34]

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 22:30 - Aug 6 with 1560 views | STID2017 | Did I really just read the answer to our problems is "a no brainer - Sell Piroe " ? Unbelievable Jim. So get rid of our best player, spunk all the money paying off the current manager and staff. Great idea. Leaves us minus our best player, no manager or staff and no money to recruit a new manager, staff or improve the playing squad. Genius level thinking that

Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 22:33 - Aug 6 with 1548 views | Dr_Parnassus | You did read that common sense (and obvious) suggestion, yes. Piroe is leaving anyway, he hates Martin. Do it now and get someone competent in before we are “rebuilding” in League 1. …….. Edit - just read this part. “Sell Piroe and spunk all the money on sacking RM and his staff” How much do you think we are paying them STID? No, invest a small fraction of it wisely in getting rid of this idiotic manager and his band of merry enablers. If it costs us £3m of the £15m potential income, it’s money well spent. Swansea City v Blackburn Rovers : Matchday Thread : SATURDAY ! on 22:52 - Aug 6 with 1513 views | Catullus | I'm with you. It's not entitlement to expect that when a system clearly is not working that the manager will do something about it. The wing back thing, we don't have players good enough but still he puts them in, Latibeaudiere isn't good enough and its a liability. The slow pace of our game is also a liability, we allow teams to regroup and reset before we get into their half. I don't expect promotion but I do expect us not to roll over to bang average side in our frst home game of a new season, we should have been up for it but we looked half asleep.

Couldn’t make the match today….but the match reports, posts from the guys on here who were at the game….and nail in the coffin for me was. RM’s quotes were enough for me to conclude that I was right not to renew season tickets as long as this guy is in charge.

All great points especially no 4, it boils my p!ss when you see piroe or oba making runs into clear areas to then the player with the ball just turn and pass it either sideways or back, we need to take chances not worry about keeping the ball as its obviously not working.
