I'm no expert on football finance and rules, but doesn't SH requesting transfer mean he is no longer entitled to a slice of the fee (10%?). So Southend would now receive the full fee instead of 90% - whatever the fee may be, and whoever the buying club is.

I can see it going on and on right till the final day too. I can’t see us matching Southend’s asking price at all, but it’s been well documented in various sources how desperate Humphrys is to get back closer to home. Hopefully that will play on Southend and they’ll decide they’d rather accept a lower offer than keep a wantaway player. | | | |
